My rates have been lower than normal lately, I should be pulling over a 1megabit per second, but ive been capping around 700kB/s. Not sure what the deal is.
My biggest complaint about comcast is a lack of more HD channels. And them gaying us over the nfl network and big ten network =/
had the same problem @ first - running a 25+mb line from comcast, called tech support - they sent in some oncall guy, who just swapped out my modem. Line was fine afterwards. they test you while your on the phone with them so dont trip, theyll see the problem. D:
I had a dedicated server in texas, and my connection to it was horrible. I did a tracert and found out its bouncing all over the place and i loose the most packets on their side of the network. I called them up asked if it was possible to be rerouted a different way to lower my latency. Some how the chick on the phone thought i was running a dedicated server in my house and texas had latency pinging it. After calling her a total moron, i said let me speak with a person that knows what a ping, packets and a tracert is.
So i spoke to the rep or as she said "THE IT person" i said look can i be rerouted on your network so it lowers my latency to this server. She said it wasnt her problem. After i explained how tracert work and my willingness to send it to her she said im not a VIP costumer and dont pay for the company package so she wont do anything for me and hung up.
Nice to see the people providing me with internet service, and even a service tech cant explain to me any of the most basic principles of networking.
