lame internet problem

hey everysense i reformated ive been having problems with my interent for one i play WoW and everytime my brother plays on his computer it lags me out all the time.. and also i cannot stream videos everytime i try it just stops and dosnt continue streaming, and everytime i try downloading something and when i go to unzip the file it says its corrupt can anyone help me?

btw i have comcast =x

id suggest giving them a call. they are pretty good at testing the line and figuring out if anything is wrong.

thanks for the reply but ive had this problem for some reason on and off for over a year ive called them multiple times and all they can say is they cant help me and it sounds like a router problem which then i have to call linksys and they tell me its a comcast problem so evedently it never gets fixed.

have gotten a new modem and a new router basically the internet is set up like this: modem / router1 is downstairs all setup then router2 is upstairs where i connect too and its also wireless so i dono if the way we have our internet setup is the problem or not if someone could help me out.

if i was connected in the downstairs router would i still have the same issues?

try it with a long ethernet cord to downstairs first and see if you lag

try setting yourself outside of the hardware firewall. Some routers, like mine, have a DMZ feature which allows a computer to sit outside of the firewall.

i had comcast and i had a problem streaming videos, at least out of wmp. The internet was blazing fast though.

bandwith issues, try going to speakeasy.net and running a speed test, post results

Wait you have 2 routers? You can't have a router connected into another router and have both running DHCP.

If your router2 is connected using wireless, have you configured it as a bridge/extender? check and see if your router2 upstairs has not wireless interfaces, make sure your router1 is set to a different radio channel then your router2, also make sure there are no interfaces with the radio signals, like HARD WALLS or refrigerators. Move your router to another location. This problem has to do with your configurations and not with your ISP or your hardware.
