sorry for my bad english.. i just buy a razer lycosa i CANT do MAJ(caplock) and press 2 more button at the same time...any way to allow to use caplock and 2+ button at the same time
if u look on your keyboard instructions or the site the following keys only allow anti ghosting CLUSTER which means u can press those certain keys all at the same time.
1,2,3,4,5,6 tab,q,w,e,r a,s,d,f etc caps isn't inculded etc its the core gaming keys
#4 Maybe that only applies to the Lycosa, but I have no problem pressing t f space x and j at the same time on my razer tarantula :O Unless those keys are included in that group.
Check the RazerBlueprints website. You're not the only one facing problems with the Lycosa. Looks like everyone who's bought one has problems with the keyboard.
The lycosa keyboard blows. I would not recommend anyone buying it. The only reason I got it and continue to use it is because the keys feel like laptop keys, which is what I'm used to. The only pros are the feel of the keys and the fact that the keyboard actually looks pretty nice.
Here are the cons:
The rubber coating starts coming off the sides of the keys with only a couple of days of use.
The anti-ghosting is bs. There are a lot of key combos that you can normally do with other keyboards that you can't with this one.
The backlighting is almost impossible to see with even minimal lighting conditions. The USB port on the keyboard is not 2.0 and so it's basically useless.
The lights will freak out sometimes and start cycling through the lighting modes (off, full, wasd cluster).
My windows volume is at the middle but the keyboard will turn it all the way up randomly.
Oh and the best part about this keyboard?
Random keys will just stop working for no reason. It happens at random and without warning, usually when the keyboard has been plugging in for awhile. To fix it you have to unplug it and plug it back in.
The rubber coating doesn't come off, the oil your hands produce cover it up pretty fast. This makes the keys look glossy and look as if they have lost their rubber coating, but they haven't.
I take a lint free cloth and spray my keys with windex and wipe them down when they get really dirty. The rubber coating looks like new after that.
I haven't had any problems that you are facing. The anti-ghosting specifically for the lycosa keyboard only applies to the keys surrounding the WASD key pattern. It doesn't work with any other keys.
I do agree the lighting could be better.
Just because its usb 1.1 doesn't mean its useless. The usb port on the keyboard is meant to be used with a headset not a real usb device like an external harddrive, ipod, usb disk drive ECT ECT. They give you the option to use headset jacks or usb. For a headset its perfect, you don't need usb 2.0 for it.
Only problem I have encountered with the keyboard is that my "4" key is a little too sensitive. To me, its not a big problem because I don't use the 4 key anyways in the games I play.
This Lycosa I'm using is fine apart from the rare 'lock-ups' that occur and non-existant anti-ghosting. I can't replicate the 'lock-ups'. They just happen. :/
I recommend buying it, only if you don't mind spending the money. The chances of you getting a defective ones are quite low, given that they were the initial batches. Mine has been stellar with no issues at all; including none of the ones experienced by #17.
It's very easy to fix the low backlighting and random key pressing/ media pad malfunctioning. You open the keyboard and remove the tiny screw that keeps the connectors from fully joining. That fixes the media pad. Then you just scour the thicker plastic layer that occludes the lighting so that it shines through more brightly. Or you can send it back to Razer and they'll send you a fixed one. Your choice.
Not all martyrs see divinity... but at least you tried...
great keyboard but the fact that it doesn't allow this function is complete retarded. i've talked to razor support to somehow disable this, and they said its not possible. i returned mine.
All you gotta do is move your hand over one key. The a key would replace the capslock key for whatever you're using it for. I switched to this style after I was playing on a laptop for a bit and capslock key was giving me trouble. I don't think it takes long to get used to.
does anyone get the issue with the lycosa where when you plugin your headphones to the keyboard's ports, that you get a buzzing noise in your headphones?
