right now i got the fatal1ty pad, i like it alot but its wearing out now.... i accidentally put thermal glue on it lol, i was redoing my PC and got a new heatsink and yeah accidentally placed the glue side on the pad
Everglide Titan Fnatic Edition is afaik very well distributed and many gamers think it's the best cloth pad that you can buy nowadays. It's pure cloth, comfortable (4,3mm thick), consistent, durable and it has less friction than Steel's QcK series. Plus it's pretty cheap and the fnatic version looks awesome :)
dont see the point but if you MUST have a gaming organization on your mousepad... you can either go with a noidpad with your favorite teams logo on it or you can go for the mousesports qck in either case i think it kind of makes you a tool if you want a solid cloth pad just grab a qck heavy if you want a solid coated cloth pad just grab a noidpad that is all~
#3 Agree QcK Heavy is great, I've had three of them - but in the end it isn't very durable nor consistent. Though it glides very well for 4-5 months. But still it slowly loses the finest touch that it has when brand new.
Haven't tried mantis speed (from what I heard, it's damn good) but allsop raindrop gigapad xl has tons of friction and teflon padsurfers don't make it better. It might be an average mousepad for quake but if you play cs - do not get it. The original allsop raindrop pad (the normal sized) on the other hand has a lot better surface and glide, but on daily use it wears out quickly so I would'nt recommend it for a hardcore gamer.

as far as the everglide titan goes (fnatic ed etc.) or the razer speed for the matter as well, neither are pure cloth. just like the noidpad (the noidpad being alot more quality imo) these are cloth mousepads with a plastic coating (therefore in no way pure cloth).
now as far as the qck heavy goes youre dead wrong, infact a brand new qck heavy will have alot of friction and it is after a good month or so that a smooth glide starts to develop.
also i dont think there is a such thing as a "durable" clothpad as they all wear down and soak in liquid. however from what ive noticed the plastic coated cloth pads (fnatic everglide, normal everglide, razer speed as well as noidpad) tend to develop resistance after time passes and sweat is absorbed into them (kind of like the 5L but not as severe) whereas the qck heavy tends to get smoother with time.
if you want a durable and consistent mousepad that you can frequently wash without problems just go for a s&s or a sp (both of which are meant to be washed with windex and cloth), however if youre looking for the comfort and great feel that clothpads provide than qck heavy is clearly a king.
QUOTE:What is Fibertek™ Technology? The latest research and development efforts by Everglide™ have culminated in the Fibertek™ cloth surface. Fibertek™ technology is dedicated cloth weave which is incorporated in the surface of each Everglide Titan™. The intricately woven fibers of the Fibertek™ surfaces ensure precise targeting and tracking without limiting the velocity or acceleration of mousing movements.
Took that from www.everglide.com Mantis pads have the exact same surface, they are just produced differently.
I have had a couple QcK Heavies in the past, yeah you are right that it takes 2-4 weeks for it to develop a smooth glide that lasts for good 4-5 months in heavy, daily use. But the thing is, as months pass by it becomes slower and and inconsistent, almost unnoticeably. But a 6 months old Heavy and a brand new Heavy, when tested side to side, feel like totally different pads. In the end it doesn't offer the consistency that is vital for the player to perform on top of his abilities.
Of course all cloth pads wear and tear by time but Titan keeps its control and performs consistently a lot longer than Heavy and that makes it a winner in my books.
The new S&S feels pretty durable tbh, but in terms of control and comfort, plastic pads simply don't have one word against cloth pads. S&S also has to be washed often and it eats a lot of teflon skates (like all hard pads do), so they have to be renewed quite often in order to have a consistent glide.
everglide titan has more friction than a allsop raindrop xl i have new ones of both and just tested it and both with a 3.0 with hyperglides and a 3.0 with ss skates
#8 i dont know what youre trying to establish with the quote tbh, in no way does it state that its pure cloth etc. in a nutshell the everglide titans, noidpad, razer speed are very much alike and all incorporate this fibertek slogan but theyre all simply clothpads with a plastic coated onto them (however unlike the 5l f.e. they have plastic over the surface, instead of it being incorporated with layers etc.).
steelseries imo is just like any other company, most of their stuff is garbage in my opinion but some of it is nice. as far as the heavy goes, i have recently opened up a new one because i gave a friend an old one (i get stuff from ss pretty cheap) and before i did i tested the glide on the one that has served me for over a year now and the new one definitely has more friction. the great thing about the qck series (as well as cloth pads in general) is that they develop glide over time. now dont get me wrong overall my noidpad f.e. provides so much more glide than my heavy and in no way am i or did i dispute that. out of all the coated clothpads i would suggest a noidpad as it has very nice glide, is customizable ( mine ~ http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/6632/001.. ) and has very solid edges, out of all the uncoated clothpads i would suggest a heavy.
Idk, the mousepad i like alot is the qck+, but ive heard ppl with deathadders dont like it as much. I like the fatal1ty pad but ive had it for 2 years, someone told me that the qck is possibly to spongy like or something, because the fatal1ty pad, the cloth is kinda thin, and the bottom part is like 3mm
Picked up the Mantis Speed today. My first experiences were that it felt really hard and sticky, but quite smooth, something like the 5L which I absolutely hated. For a moment I thought I was disappointed and had wasted my money. But after some hours of playing this pad surprised me and started to feel a lot softer and more like cloth than plastic (a lot better).
Could that stickyness been caused by some sort of protection treatment?
Anyway, it feels pretty good now, but I'll have to test it for a week to maky any kind of conclusion. Just my thoughts if anyone gives a damn. :)
I've tried everglide fnatic titan pad, dkt mousepad, razer mantis speed, everglide titan, they are all absolutely THE SAME: they are cloth pad. I've also tried QCK heavy and Supermat. The everglide series has less friction than QCK, which has a bit less friction than supermat
For ages I've used the S&S and my Fnatic titan everglide came in the post today.
Cause ive used plastic pads since forever and this is my first cloth pad its a bit of a pain getting used to it but no way does the fnatic pad have lots of friction, if anything ive had trouble controling the mouse seeing as its that smooth.
ive used the qck round my friends and its not as good as the fnatic pad.
Potti: Why are you trying to prep-talk me you idiot

i've tried the Razer Speed...
it def. feels a bit different than the Everglide Fnatic despite having the same "fibertek" technology.
anyways,
i still recommend the Fnatic pad =)
if not just get the Qck Heavy.

The everglide series has less friction than QCK, which has a bit less friction than supermat
As you can see, it's a regular, 32x27 QcK.
