Ok I need to figure this out cause its starting to bug me now. I bought one of these cards, assuming it was top of the line like 8-9 months ago and it was an insane price. But I see no one talking about it, or mentioning anything about it, which makes me wonder if it is any good.
When I bought this PC I was looking for top of the line so I think I spent way to much for a piece that now has no value to anyone.
Its an amazing card, just I dont know alot of people who shell out that much money for that card. No games really use it so nobody really got it that I know of (except a few, who btw say its amazing).
it's a good card but it is considered to many as an "overclocked GTX"...which it basically is. you can still sell it for triple digits...but not for the 500-600 range that it was originally was. i mean, if the 8800GTS 512MB (a little above $300) can almost match or can even surpass the ultra, what's the point with keeping the card on the market? (all prices are USD). the old 8800GTS are basically dirt cheap since they are old chips and are being outperformed by the new cards.
rofl noob, never pay for anything right when it comes out, its mad overpriced, hence why those q6600 kentsfields were selling for $1000 a piece, about a month later they dropped to 5-600, not they are selling for a little less than $200
The only card that beats the Ultra is a 9800GX2, and the 3800x2 at times.. In fact just before the GX2 came out the ultra was still fetching 500-600$ on ebay. Now they have dropped considerably to at or below 400.
You still have a good card. It just wasn't widely purchased as it was basically a more expensive overclocked 8800GTX.
Crizzack, it's a good card but what happened was after that was released, Nvidia was able to offer much cheaper cards that gave almost the same levels of performance. So the 8800Ultra is just as good as it's always been but no one sees the need to pay $700 for 100 fps when they can pay $240 for 90fps.
That's computer hardware for you.

The 8800 ultra is still considered an excellent card. The 8800 GTS 512mb might get close to the 8800 gtx but it pales in comparison to an ultra. Keep the card and be glad you have the second best card on the market now. As an afterthought...i would first buy an 8800 ultra before i got a 9800gx2.

Any help is appreciated.
