8400 gs or 7600 gt

I sent in a RMA to evga for my 7600 gt which the fan stopped working. They sent me back a 8400 gs, which one is better, did i get ripped off?

7600GT is better... 8400GS is bad, real bad.

the 7600GT is far superior.

well i called evga and the guy on phone kept arguing with me saying they were pretty much the same
and that i was doing something wrong with the drivers

7600gt definetly.

Check out some of the Video card comparison charts like on Tomshardware. Definitely got ripped.

an 8400GS has Turbo Cache, meaning it uses up system ram for extra VRAM. Terrible technology if u ask me. And he is very incorrect, a 7600GT will destroy a 8400GS in every test. Call them back and demand they send you an equivalent card to the 7600GT or at least a additional rebate to buy an 8800 or something. You got straight ripped.

Even if the products were the same. eVGA can't send you something that you 1) didn't pay for and 2) didn't RMA.

So, if I were you, I'd do what I did to SteelSeries, and start threatening them. Also, tell him he has fcuking down syndrome if he thinks those 2 cards have the same performance, and tell him to find a job where he actually shows knowledge. PZL8.

Be civil and ask for a supervisor. Yelling and threatening only makes things worse.

I have the 8400GS, 7600GT > 8400GS by FAR.

Though I'm sure you got the point already, you got really screwed on that. 8400GS is an AWFUL card.

Call them back, explain that you know for a fact that the 8400 is a lesser card than the 7600, and on top of that, they sent you back a card that you did not pay for or originally send in, and that you want an equivalent card back. If they refuse, demand to speak to a supervisor.

The 8400GS is not a gaming card. It's an entry level DX10 card.

THIS EXACT SAME BULL HAPPENED TO ME IM GOING BACK AND DEMANDING a 7600 gt or a 8800

#20 just demand for the original series card back, or a hefty discount on an 8800GS or GTS.
