So I'm thinking about buying a shuttle, I'm definitely going the newegg route because the shuttle website overprices everything. so this is what i'm thinking of getting:
Shuttle SG31G2 Intel Socket T(LGA775) Kingston HyperX 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz
now here is my question, what video card should i get? the shuttle i want is pci express x16, not x16 2.0. I want a video card that is decent and that can fit. I've heard people saying that the 9600gt was working with this type of shuttle even though its pci slot is only x16, is this a problem? I really want a 8800gt because i hear it fits, and i definitely don't want a card that will be touching anything. So, any suggestions? any help is appreciated thanks.
um hate to burst your bubble but shuttles arent that great. i had two shuttles and i always experienced problems with overheating ( dont know if they fixed it but ive heard a lot of other complaining about the same thing). dunno what to tell u about the video card.. hard to determine what would fit (shuttles literally have no room for breathing aka thats why they overheat).
thing that bugs me about shuttles is the power supply, they are small and usually weak, make sure that it can handle a big card like the 8800gt or 9600gt, i recommend a minimum of 450watt powersupply to run those 2 cards.

think about it b4 u order it :]
2.0 works on regular pci-e slots, they just don't fully utilize the 2.0...you can buy whatever vid card you want...
most people on newegg who reviewed the shuttle barebone said it was easy setup and its been running fine. is gotfrag more intelligent or what?
