No reason to get E6550 along with 8600GT. Either get 8800GT or E2160 as the CPU.

Personally, I think you should save up some more until you can afford at least double the ram and an 8800gt. No point in buying a new PC unless you actually put some kickass ware to it.

And personally, I think you should try some other HDDs. Maybe a 750GB Seagate Barracuda? I mean, 250GB alone is pretty damn little, specially if you plan to use the PC for anything else than gaming alone.

#10, are you stupid? 250GB is plenty, who the hell needs 750GB's? This guy isn't a movie maker.

#12: Considering that my PC has 5x 250s and a single 500gb HDD, I wouldn't say that having a single 750 is even that much. And just so that you know, currently I have about 765GB free out of the 1500 that I can use.

But as I said, unless the PC is solely for gaming, you would want to have more. If not 750, then 500. And surely money cannot be the problem, considering that the Barracudas are pretty damn expensive, about 80€ for a 500gb one.

And if you would care to look at #1, he never specified that he would be having multiple HDDs, but only that one 250. And having 250GBs for downloaded media, games, video and audio is quite little.

#14 obviously he must, i have a 160gb HDD and only have about 26 gb used atm. I practice the art of removing things after i finish using them to save HDD space. If you arn't a graphic designer, or an amateur movie maker, then why would you need so much space. Makes me wonder what kinda junk you have on those HDD.

#15: Well, a good 15gb of it are music and the rest is software, games and anime.

Of course, removing things from the HDDs is one option, but since I like to re-watch the anime a few times now and then, it would be huge hassle if I deleted every anime once I've watched it.

#18: http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.as..

There. Moron is a "very stupid person". Now, you might say that I'm stupid because I brought myself into it as an example, but I never said you need a TB of HDD to be well-off. I just happened to have lots of HDD in this PC of mine. Actually, other than the HDD, my PC isn't that good. For example, I'm running a GeForce 7600GT, a Pentium 4@ 3.6Ghz, 4x 512mb RAM and a A Sound Blaster Live! 5.1. As you can see, it surely as hell won't run any of the newer games with decent frames. However, it's still tons and tons better than my previous PC, which was much worse at 1GB Ram, integrated soundcard, 2.xGhz processor and an old Radeon 9200. And it had a lot less HDD. You see, my PCs are usually ones that were previously used by my father in his line of work, so I don't pay anything for them.

As far as I can remember, I recommended 750 or 500GB of HDD on a PC that is used for anything else than gaming. I cannot say that it would be stupid. At least I didn't recommend something ridiculous like running 2x 9800 X2's in sli. I see it this way; it's better to have that little extra as long as it doesn't cost too much. And going from a 250 Barracuda to a 500 Barracuda would only cost you around or less than 30€. Which really isn't that much.

So in the end, you're saying that I'm very stupid because I would rather have too much than what is the exact requirement?

#21: I would at least hope that someone of his age would have the maturity to refrain from labeling people "morons". It makes him seem either very arrogant of his own position or ignorant of the meaning of "moron" and the obvious difference between being stupid and having a differing opinion.

Damn, had two mistakes.

i guess i'd pay $650 for it, but you'd need more ram. and you'll need to buy vista/xp using up another $100 or so if it's not already on the comp.

I have a 150 gb WB raptor 10,000 rpm and i have about 106 gb free 3 partitions.

I have an external 120 gb WD that holds all my music/movies/warez (almost full aswell, need to clear the junk off it though)

Some people feel the need to save everything when 95% of the stuff they save is junk anyways.

Smaller clean drives/partitions are better for gaming anyways.
