does anyone know if turning off freemove via ikari software is saved even if you don't have the software installed (i.e. for going to lans where you can't install drivers)?
rofl the ikari is absolutely awful, but uhh yeah just set whatever you want and it saves itself until you change something, no matter what PC you use, like i said before that mouse is abysmal
shape is preference for the most part to a certain extent, if your going to have something your trying to move and aim with, you should be able to grip it naturally with your hand griping it inwards, with the ikari they force you to have a outward grip which is unnatural, you can use it but its just not ergonomically sound to me.
i couldve used the ikari even if it was just the bad shape, but the optical and laser both have high amounts of negative accel and start to lose movement completely if you move the mouse very fast at all, the free move technology is pretty aggrivating with a cloth pad your movement is just skippy despite the exact movements, like you can get to where you want to aim but you can miss by milimeters very easily all the time, they would need to make larger hard pads with perfect surfaces like an S&S the size of a qck+ to have a mouse that required 100% accuracy from the user to make any sense.
4-shape is preference based so i wont even respond to that.
i agree that the optical version does have negative acceleration, high liftoff distance as well as tracking problems overall. however as far as the laser version goes you have obviously not tried out the mouse yourself. the laser version uses the same agilent sensor found in the g9 with the exception of being able to manipulate the dpi by 1 from 3200 dpi to below and also being able to disable correction. this sensor at this point is the best laser sensor out there atm. as far as tracking goes with the laser version i have yet to experience negative acceleration and it tracks better than my deathadder on a qck heavy, keep in mind deathadders dont track well on qck heavys. i have been able to get negative acceleration out of my imo 1.1 ss with ease but i have yet to see my ikari laser have any problems in terms of tracking.
this being said i dont use the ikari because my hands are too large. the mouse is wide however the mouse1/mouse2 top base isnt very wide at all which doesnt allow me to squeeze the mouse and it isnt the best claw grip mouse imo.
to answer your original question tech yes from my experience it will save your settings. however i wouldnt recommend using correction on the ikari because unlike the deathadder or mx518 f.e. the correction on this sensor which the g9 also uses doesnt seem efficient.
with the deathadder at 1800dpi/1000hz 3/11 windows no accel my average score is around 75 with the ikari laser at 800dpi/1000hz 6/11 windows no accel my average score is around 70 with ikari on the same settings AND correction its around 65 i usually get around 70 with my imo 1.1 ss which shows that some correction is great for fps but some isnt.
also keep in mind that if you do image editing work correction is never a good thing.
i have a laser ikari sitting right here, its laser is awful. oh btw you gauge mice on a user based test, youre completely lost and i dont think ill see you out of main
4-it all comes down to personal preference based , i also agree with you that the optical does have negative acceleration, and high liftoff distance. As far as the laser goes, I dont have any tracking problem with it on my qck or 4d. Once again, internet opinions! nobody wins!!i have a laser ikari sitting right here too and im using it as my primary gaming mouse, DA & IE3 are my back ups.
6-what user based test? the ikari laser is a mouse i own amongst the following: imo 1.1 ss cpl da mx518 g1 ime the laser is fine, if you went out of your way to get the mouse and either got a bad one or have a stigma against laser than that in itself displays your intelligence. i myself got it for free from denmark where i am atm and although it isnt my primary mouse due to my hands being too large as i already stated it is better than most and more than good enough in terms of hardware.
i did play in cal during high school when i lived in the states in manhattan, i was in main however that was in a game that actually took skill which im told isnt played in the us anymore: 1.6, but im sure cal-m+ in source is incredibly hard considering it is a dead league.
7-my table looks pretty much like that except i have a qck heavy, i disabled the lights on my cpl da and i have a imo 1.1 ss instead of the ime. dont really see the point of getting a ss ime as the mouse is already glossy but nice setup in either case.

ive used simple tests to test out the effectiveness of correction on certain mice: http://www.reflextest.net/reaction/letter.htm
with the deathadder at 1800dpi/1000hz 3/11 windows no accel my average score is around 75
with the ikari laser at 800dpi/1000hz 6/11 windows no accel my average score is around 70
