I'm currently using my second func archetype 1030, I use the smooth side, I really love it. However, it's my second one because I have to replace it almost every 6 month because it becomes kind of worn out, and I don't really like the rough side. I was wondering.. Is there any mouse pad that is very simillar to the smooth side of the func and that lasts more then a year ?
I dont mind the price, as long as I'm pleased with it ;D
yeah crank, that one of the things I like about the func's smooth surface, its not lacking but its not too much either.. its probably the main why i dont like cloth pads that much...
hey position, i use a imo 1.1 ss and have used a custom archetype with both sides smooth before. first off i would like to mention that many people prefer the rough side myself included not only because it is more durable but also because it provides more friction for better control.
in any case if youre looking for the smoothest hardpad around that will last i would recommend the steelseries sp.
if you have been thinking about a hardpad with more friction for more control i would definitely recommend the razer destructor, which offers the friction and control of clothpads and the durability / glide of hardpads.
i currently use the steelseries ss which is basically a mix between the two listed above.
also do not go with the steelseries sx as it attracts dust and dirt like a magnet and cannot be properly washed without degrading its texture much like the 5L as the pad relies on maintaining an oil like substance on top.
I love dkt's comment. lols! but yeah... I use to use the func archtype , S&S, thunders. I didnt like cloth pads at all until i got a DKT and QCK Heavy :]
# 1 go to www.func.net and order a customized bad it's the f series and you have like 2 options rough or smooth and then size preference it will cost you a few dollars more but well worth it.
