I recently moved, and every so often this image comes up: http://www.picsend.net/images/953539conne.. I usually just hit cancel and it goes away. Then it may or may not pop up a few seconds/minutes later. It's a little annoying and it never happened before at my previous house.
Also, my volume for my mic always gets reset to 20 or below (Right click the speaker > Recording Devices > Levels) and my boost gets un-ticked everytime I leave vent or I stop using my mic. How do I set it so it doesn't do this anymore?
From the image you provided it would appear you do not use a router, or you have a dial up connection already defined in "Network Connections". If you use a router to connect to the internet, then I would look within Network Connections, and delete any existing pre defined connections you have in there. If you are using an ADSL modem to connect, then check the settings on the dial up connection to make sure it isn't trying to connect all the time, regardless if there is already an active connection available.
As for the sound issue, try and reinstall your sound drivers. If Vista picks them up automatically, then delete your sound device from device manager, and let Vista pick the drivers back up again from either the online driver repository server, or from the disk that you previously used to install it.
Issues like this are fairly hard to diagnose or fix without actually having the machine in front of you to look at, but I hope this either fixes your issues, or sets you on the correct path to fixing it yourself.

I use Windows Vista.
"VISTA SUCKSSSSSSS"
I use Vista on one of my PCs and it's flawless. Sucks to be you.

Must be gutting having to watch your girlfriend do that to another man. Must really lower your self esteem.
Only 2 people I like in this topic of conversation, one is me, and the other is most definately not you.
