excuse me for asking, but what actualy is this 'lift-off' ? i'm going to buy a deathadder, i've hard about lift-off, but i don't know exactly what it means.
i have a qck+ and the mouse works perfectly with the latest firmware. I don't feel the lift off problem even though i have a low sens and lift the mouse off the pad pretty often.
make sure you have the latest firmware, ive used the deathadder on both a qck heavy and a noidpad. with the latest firmware the liftoff is below 3mm on both pads however i should mention the deathadder doesnt track well with low sensitivities on a qck heavy even with 1800dpi/1000hz.
I have no tracking problems whatsoever on the qck+ and you can really get used to the high lift-off. But since I have to buy a new mousepad anyway I wanted one with a low lift-off to see the difference. :)
@8: Can't you test more accurately the lift-off with the NOIDpad? You can put CDs under the mouse and check how many of them it takes to stop tracking. ^^ 1 CD = 1.2mm
9-i would if i wasnt away on vacation in europe but it would still be pointless anyway since with the new firmware the deathadders liftoff is pretty standard in comparison to my other mice such as the imo 1.1 ss / G1 etc.
imo anyone who uses a mousepad as well as a mouse from the same company cant be taken seriously. whats even more depressing is the same people are those who usually try to push their biased opinions onto others like complete tools.
sticking to the topic- lidner the deathadders liftoff distance is virtually the same on all mousepads with the latest properly installed firmware which should never reach over 4mm and is usually below 3.5mm. seeing as it is an optical mouse it will get the highest liftoff distance on a black hardpad such as the steelseries ss as optical mice track best on black/shiny surfaces but that itself shouldnt be more than 3.5 mm - 4mm.
in comparison to other pads the liftoff distance on the noidpad should be lowest around depending on what color your noidpad is ofcourse but the results are pretty much the same all around. aside from this i wouldnt recommend a qck heavy if you change your mind about the noidpad as the deathadder doesnt perform well on this surface and will skip with a fast enough swipe - about the same swipe required to make my imo 1.1 ss experience negative accel i would say, maybe even lower. hope i helped.

Deathadder lift-off NOIDpad
Thanks.
They were fixed, but the mouse still has varying lift-off distances depending on mousepad, supposedly.

P.S. I use the latest firmware v. 1.27.
ouch, well thats what you get for using cheap pads =X.
cant go wrong with a mantis control. i get less then 2 mm lift off distance with this pad and the deathadder.
