so what did you do? buy a soundcard? because my onboard soundcard is awful it has little static which annoys me and makes my mic sound more staticIER
there must be a program that only changes the hertz in one specific usb!
btw my mobo is nforce 590 SLI with the realtek HD soundcard.. if anyone has found a fix for the static in the mic/audio - please help! (yes i have latest nforce and realtek drivers installed)
I would be suprised if you could increase the frequency on just a single port. I would assume you would have to increase the frequency across the entire root hub in order to get any change at all, seeing as the entire hub is one entity.
I may be wrong.

On the other hand, if you can really notice a 7/1000th of a second difference in your mouse's polling rate, then you should turn yourself in to medical science for analysis.

Yes I have. Tried it after reading this post, and the results were as I expected. None.
QUOTE:The average reaction time of a human is approximately between 0.2 s to 0.25 s. However, your reaction time is also affected by factors such as age, gender, intelligence, fatigue, and distraction.
200ms - 250ms. And you're telling me that knocking 7ms off your mouse's response time can make a notable difference? OK then. If you insist, I won't argue.

#13 oh god kid your new, the diff from 125 hz to 500hz in the smoothness so insanely noticable unless you have eye problems....... or profound down syndrome.
Why play with more than you have to? All the people who claim well you can't notice a difference come off as pretty ignorant about online fps games to me. Why the hell would you want to play with more ms than you have to? It's not like there's some downside to changing the polling rate.
Also why would you quote a blip about average reaction time...call me crazy but I'm going to guess that most everyone who plays cs competitively is faster than that. I know when I was reading into reaction times there was a top 15 chart or something and people were getting .130's.
Also it doesn't have anything to do with a noticeable difference, its about reducing the input ms delay from your hardware to the server. And last I checked lower ms was better period.

Last time I checked, when playing online, you connect through multiple servers in order to get to the server you are playing on. These are called "hops" son. Most latency gained during TCP connections are attributed to these hops, due to the fact that server essentially have to handshake in order to pass packets from one server to the next. Maybe if your mouse plugged into the server directly you might get some benefit, but seeing as TCP/IP doesn't work like that, I seriously doubt all this tinkering with polling rates actually does anything constructive in the grand scale of things. Sure, on a LAN it makes MORE of a difference, but you'd still have to be a super human to actually USE that difference.
You would probably gain more benefit from simply switching ISP, than you would from changing the polling rate on your mouse. After all, the maximum gain you can get from 125hz to a 1000hz increase is 7ms in difference. My ping fluctuates more than that when I'm in game anyway, which or course would counteract the difference you managed to barter with your mouse anyway.
However, if you want to try and make yourself feel better about life in general, and this kind of thing makes you happy, then go ahead.
I'm not saying you are WRONG about it changing anything, after all, you can't argue with the figures. I'm just asking if there's any point. My opinion, is "no".

#16 i think thats completely wrong. when i play with the default 125hz and switched to 500hz, the "skippyness" has disappeared. this in the end has made me play better, thus, gaining from it's switch.

Again some people claiming that "6ms difference in the polling latency won't make a difference". Of course there's a difference if your motherboard is refreshing the mouse's position 500 times a second instead of 125.
Well, even the Razer guy in his mouse optimization article claimed that not everyone can see/feel the difference and for others it's totally different.
usb mouserate with usb sound
i guess im wondering is there some other software besides "USB Mouserate Switcher 1.1" that only increases the hertz in one specific usb port?
im having trouble finding this on forums
I don't think there's a fix for it though...
