I got a Compaq 6710b not too long ago and I don't think this has been going on since I got it, but I used to shut it down every night so I cant really say.
I started getting "bad pool caller" bsod's, but I looked around and found out it might be related to a zonealarm update, so I reinstalled that and it fixed that problem. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with my current problem. Basically, Ill boot it up, login and everything will start to load. Its a little sluggish but I think thats just because of all the stuff loading, after that its fine. I can use it all day without any problems or slowness. Ill leave it running overnight, usually with utorrent running but theres no programs running otherwise. I think i have some virus scan thing run during the middle of the night but I turned that off and it didnt help. But yeah ill come back to it in the morning and its basically frozen, it takes forever to open anything even the start menu, and when i ctrlaltdel to try and open the task manager the little box takes a while to load. Ill try to restart it, even if i wait for the start menu to popup and wait to get to the shutdown box to hit restart it doesnt restart, so i have to hard reset it. Also, the laptop has a wifi led on the front and a button to turn it on and off and its usually lit up but when I come back the next day its not lit up but the wifi still works, and nothing happens when I try to get the light lit again. When I boot it back up everythings fine. I dont really know whats going on.
