Hey guys. I've been researching parts for my first computer build over the last few days and have come up with this setup. Let me know what you think of it.
#7 its also... more expensive. how is that any better. sure enough i could recommend a $1,000 build which would be "better in every category" (but price curiously enough). kinda useless if he can't afford it. but nevertheless, i listed a system that is both better then yours and cheaper ^.^
why not tracers? at the time, the tracers were cheaper. considering that aside from LEDs they are identical, surely you'd go for the cheaper option...
Haha thanks a lot for your inputs. Lately I've just been getting ideas, hopefully put the computer together in a month or so...I also only have about $600 to spend ,give or take. Good enough for a computer to play WoW...Thanks a lot once again!
As far as I know they perform more or less on par with one another. If one were slightly more powerfull than the other, I don't think the difference would be very significant.
#16 why are people suggesting 8600gt's? perhaps because they are cheap?? at $50 they are a pretty solid card, and nothing in that price range comes close. sure they were considered a peice of sh it when they come out. but thats because they were priced as mid range cards and didnt offer mid range performance. they also didnt perform all the much better then equivalent previous gen cards half their price. that was in stark contrast to the incredible leap in performance going from higher end 7 series cards to high end 8 series cards.
BUT im afraid when you dont specify a budget, you dont really get a choice given that his original build totaled about $400. that card will run new games well at low details / resolutions which is what you ask of a budget oriented card
now that he has specified a budget he can now fit in something like a 9600gt / 8800gt 512mb (or an ati hd3850 / hd3870)

My suggestions for change would be:
PSU
Antec EarthWatts 430W PSU - $59.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
GFX Card
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 2600XT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 GFX Card - $54.99 with MIR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
You could also go with the e7200 like #3 mentioned, as it will provide more than enough performance for what you need, at a cheaper price tag to boot.
It's up to you though.
Good luck :]
Why tracers?

#6 8600gt > 2600xt

Either way, both would run WoW no problem.

Hard drive is dependent on what you really need, of speed (Raptor), capacity (WD 400GB), or a combination of the two (Seagate).
Before rebates it'll be a bit over $600, but after rebates (AR) and depending on shipping/taxes, you should be under $600.
