I'm finally building a new computer after years...I currently have amd 64 3500+, SLI 6600GT, 1gb of ram, 4 hd's 120, 250, 320, 500....I'm going to keep my 4 hd's and my soundcard x-fi xtreme music...This is what I'm planning on getting so far.
looks like i will be going with this one it's a oc 8800 gt cheaper then the one i originally posted http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp.. anyone suggestions on the psu ?
Finally, set sys. vol. to manual & change ddr2 volt to +0.4. Disregard the warning. The default is 1.8v for Gigabyte boards. I believe +0.3v (2.1v) is fine.
I'm guessing a single 8800GT will consume roughly the same amount of power as two 6600GT's running in SLI, but I have no numbers to back that up.
Having four hard drives can actually be a big power hog, but if everything ran fine on your 550W PSU before, I'm sure it will continue to run on your new setup as well. The Wolfedale is a 45nm core, and as such has a remarkably low TDP of only 65W... You should be ok :]
#7 That PSU has a high failure rate... It's cheaply made. You really get what you pay for so I always recommend getting the highest quality motherboard and PSU to allow upgrading.
Should really get Corsair because they make high-quality PSUs (they will not die after a few months) =) Their customer support is pretty badass too.
#9 That PSU is a waste =( Ugly, bad reviews, too expensive...
Corsair don't actually make psu's. They get them made by Seasonic. Currently Antec do the same. But Corsairs version of the Seasonic psu are single 12v rail power supplies which is generally considered (by people with brains) to be better then mutliple 12v rail power supplies. And as said by #10, Corsair have much better product support
#6 the TDP of a processor says nothing about the efficiency of the chip.. All it talks about is how much energy the stock heatsink is rated to be able to handle
I guess you can order the other parts and try to run them with that SurePower power supply but I fear the amperage on the 12v rails won't be sufficient since I can't even find information about those.
Also scared about the fact their fastest and newest video card is the FX5600
You NEED a new PSU. That one doesn't have a PCI-E connector and although you can use a 2 Molex to 1 PCI-E converter I wouldn't recommend it on such an old PSU. Doesn't list the 12V amps, so you really do need a new PSU.
Building New Comp...
CPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
MotherBoard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
Ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp..
Then i get stuck on the video card and psu. I currently have a 550 watt psu but i'm not sure if i should continue using that.. for the videocard idk witch one to get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp.. or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp.. what do you think ? :D...and i don't mind spending around $700
Should also consider getting a CoolerMaster 690 case.

If you NEED a new powersupply, Corsair's a good brand. I recommend the 650TX

Might want to get this RAM (check below for edit as this RAM has some avoidable compatibility issues)

--EDIT--
Looks like that RAM "can" have issues with the P35 chipsets, you can avoid this by doing this:

Corsair 520HX
Corsair 550VX
Corsair 620HX
HX are modular, only difference really. Depends on your budget.

It's an Antec 650W, with 3 12V rails.
The one I would have personally gone for if I needed more than my 500W PSU.
