Hi,

I've looked through all the threads in this forum and couldn't find any good lists of mice that are for finger users.

Could someone recommend me some? Razer DA? Diamondback?

If it needs to be small and light, i'd go with the deathadder and a good mousepad :D

Ok, I figured it would be something small but I'm not sure which ones are small.

So the deathadder is a smaller mouse then? I thought it was only a little smaller then the 3.0?

DeathAdder is not small. It's around the same size as the 3.0.

For fingermice, the ones that most people would recommend include Krait, g1, g3 and of course Diamondback.

I'm a finger grip user and i use a 3.0

I don't have freakishly large hands or anythingthe shape of the 3.0 is just very versitile and you can use it for a bunch of different style grips

#8: The Salmosa won't be out until Q3 this year. And that's official information from Razerzone.com's Press Releases.

deathadder and IME 3.0 are palm mice you wont be able to fingertip grip these mice and do good with them.

microsoft wheel mouse optical and intellimouse optical are nice for fingertip grippers

razer krait is also nice.

from what ive seen in videos of the razer salmosa it looks like it will be the next best mouse for fingertip grip users.

That mouse looks like the one I've been looking for.

Nice shape, light, good sensor.

#13: As I already said, Salmosa will be released in Q3 of 2008. And right now, that's about 3 months away. Therefore, if you plan on getting the Salmosa, I would advice you not to get anything big right now. And no, I don't mean in size.

But yes, I can concur on Krait being a nice mouse. Using one right now.

3- deathadder is the opposite of small and light.
1- the best mice for claw gripping or as you call it finger gripping are small, light and ambidextrous.

your best bet would be either the mx300 with the weight removed or a G1 however both of which are no longer sold althought you can buy a G1 online from china.

your best bet would be the following
1- microsoft optical mouse blue- a more comfortable version of the wheel mouse optical
2- microsoft wheel mouse optical- small, light, ambidextrous and has a very good optical sensor.
3- a4tech noiseless mouse- small, light, ambidextrous.

or you can wait a bit for the razer salmosa which will definitely fit the bill.

#17: What's up with leaving out Krait or DB?

20-same reason I left out the G3 f.e.

dont get me wrong I think malfunction speeds matter and the krait/db are definitely good mice in terms of that. however atleast in my opinion ms doesnt even come close to being on the top of my list in terms of what makes a great mouse.

as an image editor the way the mouse tracks is the single most important thing in my opinion, while tracking exact movements instead of transfering movements to a more efficient angle might seem like a bad thing to some its a very good thing in my opinion. the best example i can think of atm which is probably a very poor one is a Formula1. lets say you designed a F1 that turned in premediated angles which were designed to get you from one place to another faster overall, leaving the details while speeding into a turn up to the Formula itself. while it might seem like a good thing and in many cases it is, there are scenarios where it can hurt you on top of which not only does it take away skill but at a certain point it leaves you wondering why there is a driver in the first place. i know its probably a very poor example but im drained at the moment and cant think straight. sorry for the poor anology.

although the krait/db/g3 are great mice they are a step down in terms of things i think matter most which include weight/shape/design/tracking, not to mention they cost more.

For smaller mice, WMO 1.1, Krait, and G3 are some that jump out in my mind.

#21:

You talk about image editing, but this topic surely as hell does not seem to be about image editing. Also, I recall you saying countless times that correction does not necessarily make one a worse FPS player. I think you even went as far as to say that it might be good in the FPS's.

You mention weight and tracking in your most important things. Just so that you know, Krait is one of the lightest mice on the market right now. And when it comes to tracking, Krait is in the top 10 best mice easily enough.

And I think that the shape/design count as pretty much the same thing, except that design contains stuff like sidebuttons. Granted, the Krait shape is a bit weird at first, but it was you who once said that the shape is excellent. I remember that since I asked about it. You said the shape of Krait creates for a consistent aim.

What's up with all the changes in your opinion for no apparent reason?

And what's more, the Razer and Logitech mice are easily available to everyone. I, for example, have never seen any product by A4Tech in any shop in my country, whereas I've been countless products by Logitech, Microsoft and Razer.

Heck, I used to swap between Krait and the 3.0, as you probably know. Well, now I've been using the Krait for about the last month or so. The main reason for the change was, as I explained in FPSLabs, the fact that the surface of the 3.0 is slippery and I'm not able to lift the mouse properly due to long fingers. Basically, I would have to lift the mouse with the tips of my three fingers, which just doesn't work out with such a big and heavy mouse as the 3.0.

The Krait, on the other hand, has the siderails and a smaller bottom than the top, making for easy lifting. Also, Krait glides better on my QcK without changing skates on either of the two.

And then there's the buttons. The Krait buttons are amazing. I even came to the conclusion that I have no need to upgrade to the Diamondback anytime soon.

Heck, even my sister, who doesn't play that many PC games said that the shape of the Krait is better than the 3.0. Specially since the mousewheel is just that much better. And of course, the texture of the buttons is better. And the mouse is lighter.

I personally haven't had a good experience with Razers products, didn't even like the DA. Had the 3.0 for a looong time, until I finally realized that I need to be palm it to get the feeling right and I wanted something smaller and with which my hand can rest.

Using a G1 now, it's great but the buttons feel slow. I've had my eyes on the Krait for some time, seen a lot of good comments about it. Think I'm gonna give Razer one more shot..

Thats a good point olba,

If you are waiting for the Salmosa and need a claw mouse to hold you off for a few months get a cheaper mouse thats good.

Microsoft 1.1 wmo and imo are really cheap and have a really nice shape and pretty robust sensor.

23-
first off i will take away the words you put in my mouth as you usually do.
- i didnt say the krait was a bad mouse, i simply dont consider it on top of my list for small, light and ambidextrous mice.
- i didnt say correction was bad, infact as you stated i think its a good thing for fps. granted older mice with correction were bad overall hence the overwhelming majority of the intellimouse amongst top gamers etc. that is present even today. the point i tried to make about correction in my poor F1 anology was designed to leave the reader left wondering why it had a driver in the first place.

now that thats clarified i can go on to win yet another argument.
for one, the opinions of image editors far more closely resemble those of actual top gamers as opposed to some teenager with a heavy 30 button Laser mouse with weight cartridges, lights and excessive dpi.

a4tech is actually one of the oldest and most known input companies around. personally i wouldnt know what is available in most stores being that I as well as most intelligent people buy electronics online not only because of much lower prices but also because of other countless reasons.

in conclusion i would like to say that i will never respond to you again. simply because you never put up a valid argument and you never won one, whats even more annoying is that you constantly put words into my mouth on top of which you seem to either be dyslexic or you comprehend only that which you want on purpose. in either case take care.
