My friends computer has been running fine for a while except his video card gets to hot so we ordered him a custom gpu cooler and 2 more gigs of ram. Now his screen will go black and say no signal , but the computer stays on. We restart the computer and it works fine and then does it again. We thought it might be the ram and took the new sticks out and problem still occurs. Now we reseated the video card and now wont even start(it starts but no video signal)? the video card is running cool 32c idle 40 Load so it isnt the temps. Anybody have a idea?

Get a new DVI cable
Actually, just unplug yours and try it at his house.

Something similar happened to me four times, first time I had to buy a new cable, second time I had to mess with the cable, third I had to open/close the monitor every new "scene" (such as a new web page, or after starting a game)

Fourth and last time, the monitor died.

R.I.P 13 year-old monitor. =(

Bought a new 19" CRT that can handle 120 hz.

Try a new PCI-e Slot, also do reset the CMOS and or remove the BIOS battery and replace it.
