I dont know what happened but, my computer one day did not boot. So for a month I just left it in the corner and decided to fix it just recently. At first I thought it was the power supply, so I got a new 500W antec earthpower to replace the 300W stock. Still nothing. So I got a new mobo 650i ultra to replace the nforce 4 board. Still nothing. however, i was finally able to get it to work when i took all the screws out of the mobo. I suppose it was getting grounded in the case. However, everything turns on, fans, leds, sounded just like the computer when it worked before, but nothing comes on the screen. i checked the gpu in a different computer and it works, so i know that cant be the problem. monitor as well. the ram i know works too. im also got a new e8400 so im sure thats not the problem. though, i am using the harddrive that was used before, and hasn't been reformatted or cleared, so it still has vista on it. could that be the problem? thank you for the advice, sorry for wall of text.

also, since my mobo was getting grounded by being screwed on in the case, does that mean my case is faulty? >,< i need to know if i have to replace it or not, ty for the help
If you just put CPU and memory does it POST? You don't need a HDD to make it actually POST. Try setting up the PC without a case. Make sure you don't short anything out. My guess would be bad mobo OR incompatible memory/CPU with the mobo. I've seen some E series Intel CPUs cause some systems to not POST because the BIOS was incompatible. We had to flash the BIOS to a newer version for it to work. Try another CPU that you can get your hands on to see if that fixes the issue.
