The long of it: HOKAY SO... I have (had) a DeathAdder loved it, but I was at a local lan and when I got home and was unpacking, a cable from my keyboard got pulled up under the left click. (If you have a DA you'll notice how far the buttons sit off the mouse, rather than how they are flush on the 518 and G5) Anyway, I bent it back down, and the left click isn't completely broken but it requires a lot more pressure to click now. I've been looking at the Ikari optical or just getting a new DA, and I was wondering if anyone actually HAD an Ikari and their thoughts on the mouse.
I have it, ordered it as soon as it came out. I have a wider hand, and it fits me PERFECTLY. It has some minor issues for my computer in general (about 30% of the time, when i turn on my computer, i have to unplug and replug my mouse or it isn't detected) but other than that, it's awesome.
I've played on the DA and i really didn't like how it fit my hand. I can play longer with the ikari than I can with any other mouse i've ever had.
I highly recommend it. but I also haven't used too many other mice, and it took longer than i had expected to get used to, but I had used the same mouse for 5 years before that, so my case is probably not that typical.
if you are deciding between the ikari optical and the DA, get the DA.. the ikari optical has so many problems, dont get it if you have to get an ikari, get the laser i have the ikari laser and its amazing
#3 mind naming these "so many problems"? cause i have the ikari optical and i love it, absolutely no problems with it. works very well with my qck hvy+. I have a lower sensitivity too, so using a da would be no good for me. all preference really, but id recommend the optical highly.
Ikari's laser tracks fine. Wish they made an updated mouse score with these new laser sensors. Only one available is the esreality one. Laser mice he used were the bad ones. Old G5, copperhead, ms etc. Which everyone thinks is how the new ones like the Ikari or G9 is.
I didn't like the deathadder. Because of the almost 4mm liftoff on a qck (preferred pad). I tried using an icemat v2 instead since lift off is lower. But then it stops tracking if I move it real fast. 1.2-1.4 sensitivity 450dpi (1800dpi 3/11 windows). Will make a quick sweep mouse is moving but the cursor just stops. Looks like the cursor banged into an invisible wall.
I'm using the laser ikari at 500cpi low and 750cpi high. Which is around 29.7" and 19.8" per 360 for me.
#5, the lift off distance is fine, i use a low sensitivity so i need to make fast swipes and i have no trouble...and the placement of the sensor is fine...i think ur just retarded...
Sorry to bump this old thread, but, i would like to try the ikari out too... By the way, optical or laser? Because i hate the shpe of my da~ By the way, i can live with high liftoff, its not like the da's lift off is good anyway~ Oh i'm a low sens~ 30~40cm/360, totally HATE neg accel, cannot live with it!
Tetsu, if you see this, you do you think the ikari is flawed? Can some 1 mind to state the problems? Why some says its perfect, some says its trash, i know its all preference, but, some1 mind to tell me its problems please?
#12 5mm lift off distance is a bit too high for many... but that's just preference. the placement of the sensor gives the ikari optical a high lift off distance... and some tracking problems. The ikari optical uses the same sensor as the mx300, which has almost no tracking problems.. Go ask steelseries yourself "retard"
for #1 get it if you want.. none of these newer mouses have huge flaws that will f*ck up ur gaming...
#22, it would be helpful to know your cm per 360 in-game, and what game(s) you are playing. If it is under 45, I would suggest the Ikari Laser. If it is over 45, go higher sensitivity or DA/3.0/Mx518/possibly Ikari Optical might be better for you. For older games like 1.6 and Q3, low dpi is ok, so mice like the 3.0 are great. On the other hand, for COD4, for example, I'm here to tell you, at higher resolutions, the higher dpi does make a difference in precision, and no mouse is easier than the Ikari Laser to set up. I simply set my in-game sens to 1, and change the dpi to what I want it to be. It's easy, and the mouse works great. I've used mine as long as anybody, 30 days of COD4 play and the coating is just starting to wear off, feet are fine, buttons are fine.
It's really a high quality product, I totally recommend the Ikari Laser, or, for that matter, the Logi G9, which is a different shape, but also a very good mouse, similiar in tracking to the Ikari Laser, i.e., very good.
Q6600 / 4 gig XMS2 / Ati HD4870 /Ikari Laser/ CM690 case / Gateway FHD2400
Okay, but the ikari isnt available in my country yet... I will get one as soon as its available~ I just dont like the DA shape, i think the ikari might suit me better~ Btw lovenub, my in game sens is, for cs:s/1.6, 6/11, in game 3.0, 450 with my DA Could you calculate it for me? I dont have the approx tools to calculate it~
Ikari Optical?

i can name 2
super high liftoff distance and bad placement of the sensor

the DA + qck heavy combo however has some tracking issues.
but i cannot live with neg accel~
