I'm looking to build a computer that can run cs 1.6 without any problems and 100 fps at all times. I want to save as much money as possible while achieving my goal. Does any one know the minimum requirements for a computer to run cs 1.6 full graphics? I play at 800x600
#2 stfu, not everyone is rich in this world and not everyone lives a lavish life. Plus i gotta pay for university and help my parents. GET UR SELF A BRAIN
I already have a laptop just it is not for gaming but for university. I only want to play cs 1.6 without any problems with out spending too much money. It has to run cs 1.6 at maximum graphics (CEVO config)
just by the cheapest comp from like gateway or dell. there about $300 and they come with a monitor and printer. With that you will be able to play cs with max settings.
Intel E2140 Nvidia Geforce 7300GT(but not below, cause smokes DO lower your fps on lower-end cards) Some cheap motherboard. 2x1GB RAM, cause it's reaaaaly cheap dude and you're computer will run faster overall Some HDD Fortron 300W PSU (so you can be sure there won't be any problems) With this you'll have 100fps even in 3-4 smokes!
tbh you can sustain 100 fps on a gfx card as low as radeon 9800 geforce FX5900's a 2gig+ cpu 1 gig of ram, 2 if you want your pc to run smoothly ANY HDD
you could probably get given a system like that if you have mates that play online, it'll be collecting dust in their attic
i got 100fps with amd xp 1700+, 512 ddr ram and geforce4ti... but smokes were different these days ;) now i got amd64 3000+, 1024ddr ram und still geforce4ti and i still have 100fps even in some smokes.
I dont know why people pretend you can buy a comp that runs cs 1.6 perfectly for like $300. I have an Nvidia 7600, AMD X2 4200+ 2.2 ghz, 2 gigs ram, and my fps still drops in 3-4 smokes. I also use 640, and have all my graphics on low. There have been many updates for 1.6, so it doesnt run like it did in 1999...
I scrim alot, and sometimes in scrims there is alot of smokes in one place 5 smoke nades + he or flash following. I lag the F out, I saved 2k for a pc but dont want to use it all really. Max $800
I updated the build #25, it's way overkill for CS 1.6, but it will allow you to play all current games great. You can change the HDD if you need more than 80GB and change ram if you want better timing etc.
wow ur good man #26 thanks. My research gave almost exact the same stuff but acuallt mine were more expensive as i was thinking of upgrading it after in the future

So that's what I care about for now, I was looking at the entry lvl sys review by fps labs and sounds decent :P
