dont worry about building. i just finished my first build no saturday, and everything went uber smooth. it POSTed and booted perfectly on my first try.
#9 is solid. if you cant spend that much, what you posted seems decent, but i'd definitely say get and HD4850 (think about CrossFire if you want) and maybe some ttpe of quad core, depending on what you do.
#1 like #12 said, my build is very solid, but if you want to keep yours, drop the Striker 2, get an E8400, an HD4850, and only 2GB of ram unless your getting a 64 bit OS.
If its prebuilt an e8500 isn't going to be that much better over e8400 and since you're getting a good motherboard one way or another just overclock e8400. Also get an ati card either 4850 or 4870 cause ati is kicking major nvidia ass in performance/price right now.
