Hi guys.. heres my problem. I have sli 8800gs in a asus m3n ht deluxe tri sli board. somebody in my house happened to knock loose the sli connector between the two cards while my pc was on and i was away. ever since them i would get random flashing lines and artifacts on my screen when playing games. ive tried the sli config in different pcie slots and and ive tried each of the cards in each of the pcie slots. it seems that in single card mode .. the both cards are fine .. but whenever sli in enabled things just mess up. i dont want to believe its my board as a problem with my board will most likely be bandwitdth related.. and that would mean that even in single config the cards wud messup. I tried a connector from my old m2n sli deluxe to see if it cud rule out something again but with the same results. So do you guys think that the problem is with my board or one or both of my cards? --- tomorrow im borrowing one of my friends 8800gs to try adn see if i cud get normal function with a supposedly defective card out and ill also be trying a dual monitor config to help trouble shoot also. thanks in advance
tried two different os installions.. nothing .. and its the not bridge .. tired both the m3n's bridge and the m2ns bridge. i read once that each gfx card that is sli ready has a specialized section of the card that is enabled whenever sli is active and as such i would LIKE to believe that the removal of the bridge while the system was on shorted out something there. I really hope its a problem with the card cause if it is... i can put the card in a single config and at least sell it back and upgrade... however i just bought this board a week n a half ago and i would HATE to think that its useless to me already.. btw tomorrow im putting in a 5200+ processor into my m2n sli deluxe and ill try the 88 config on that... but still anythoughts as to whats goin on?
