2 1/2 years ago i bought a new computer, some dell dimension. a year and a 1/2 later i replaced this comp with a "everex" yeah jokes, labtop.(mostly for WoW and classes).
not i want a computer that can play 1.6 / source instead of just WoW.
i have unlimited money but i dont want to build a super computer, i was thinking around 800-900$ should be plenty for a new comp, i just dropped 340 on a new monitor.
being off of forums since 2007 i really don't kno anything about the new CPU's and Videocards.
i want to go the 8800 route, but with so many different types not sure what i want.
can someone please help me? i'll be running windows XP pro on it, so looking for 2gb ram, ~100-200gb HD, 8800 video card, (NO CLUE ON CPU, only want dual core, i don't think quad is worth it for 1.6 or if 1.6 can even use quad.) a nice case that can keep everything cool with big enough fans it doesnt sound like a plane.
Someone else want to help him? Im tired of helping people who can't do research on their own and have an idea of a build they would like to be commented on. Honesty there are fucking price guides to the left and 100's of past threads, don't be so lazy.
first of all both of those links are the same person, and thats not at all what i want...
200$ more then i want, bad video card not the correct ram.
i know that gotfrag use to have a forum page where it had a pre-built computer ideas. but i can't find that, and i dont know enough to just go to newegg and start adding stuff to my cart, i kno nothing about what is good in ram, and when u try to research that i can't even understand there language.
if someone could link me to an updated cookie-cut 800$ computer that would be fine, but i can't seem to find one myself, but thanks SOO much for ur 2x posts..
building from scratch, help!
