Help :[

I just built my new computer and everything seemed ok when I finished... I got a video output, BIOS worked, etc. When I popped in the Vista disk I went though all the steps and clicked install to my 500gig HDD. It gets to about 50% of the 2nd step of installation which is "Expanding files" and freezes. I've waited days and tried it again... same thing. I can't install the OS :[

Help would be great :D

have you tried calling/emailing microsoft about it?

It took me 8 tries before I finally got Vista installed. 2 days later I installed XP.

Have you tried turning it off and counting to ten?

What does waited days mean? I am sure if you contacted Microsoft they would assist you further, more than anyone here in Gotfrag can at least. I would suggest installing over night and coming back in the morning, if problem arises again, contact the manufacturer.

I mean I left it "installing" for 2 days until I came to the conclusion it was frozen.

Your HDD probably has bad sectors.

Thanks for the help guys.. but it was actually a BIOS problem.. I just updated it and it worked.
