just received some stuff from Razer today when i went to practice. To my surprise they also sent the Goliathus which i've been waiting for a long time!
This new cloth pad made by Razer doesn't really have any revolutionary technology ...
I would say it's similar to both the Everglide Titans and the Razer Speed (same size same thickness)... kind of feel like a combination of both. But the look is definitely better than the old Razer designs with stupid colors :]
Thanks for posting this, I was actually looking forward to some reviews of Goliathus.
Could you describe the surface/coating in a more specific way? For example, how is it compared to the Everglide Titan and QcK Heavy? Does it have a hybrid coating like the Titan, or is it uncoated cloth?
It looks like uncoated cloth to me, much like the QcK Heavy, tbh!
What's with all the Razer stuff in the pictures? In the first ones, there's lots of unopened boxed with the Razer label and later you desktop has the Lycosa, DeathAdder, Goliathus and Armadillo.
#16 sponsored and yes i use Deathadder with the Goliathus ... i've been using the DA for a long time and i know it skips on certain pads, but it doesn't skip on this pad at all.. i know it happens sometimes on the QCK series... however, on the Goliathus ...it works perfectly...
i like it a lot actaully =) although i would luv it even more if it's as thick as teh QCK heavy
If you get something for free, why not? Nowaydays there aren't "bad things" on the market, so no matter, if it is Razer, Logitech, Speed-Link, Microsoft, whoever... It's free. You can't go that wrong.
x[a]n_tw what do you make of the permeability and hydrophobicity properties of the Goliathus after daily testing in a high protein environment.
Also, do you think I should pursue legal action against Razer for using the name Goliathus which is already a registered trademark of my company--my company being my penis.
wish razer would come out with a good wireless mouse. they try to be at the forefront of technology, but no wireless?? the response wouldn't be 1ms, but theres plenty of solutions that can meet the 125hz on usb.
instead they release this mousepad that is pretty much the same as every other cloth pad out right now :(
#25 #26 well, that isn't really designed for gaming (turns off, less than125hz etc). it's true the g7 was a flop, but it's mostly because of the terrible battery life really and the fact that it was too similar to the g5.
wireless mice used to be a joke back when you couldn't send signals fast enough to maintain 125hz, but it's possible now. a huge majority of gamers play with 125hz (microsoft intellimice, logitech mx518 etc) so I don't see how people wouldn't love a consistent 125hz wireless mouse with at least 14 hour battery life.

most of the people who play with microsoft intellimice and mx500 use a 3rd party program to raise the polling rate.
that's true. won't deny wired will always be better than wireless when it comes to response, but i'd be willing to take the refresh hit if I didn't have to deal with a wire all the time. i mean, sooner or later, there will be good enough technology make the difference between wired and wireless negligible.
mine comes today..i'll let you know what I think. I have the titan now and I have the Mantis Control before, as well as the Qck+ Heavy and Regular..so we'll see
Well these guys F'ed up and sent me the speed version. I'm seinding it back, however I did use the speed, and it's very very nice. I definetely still want the control but the speed does feel really nice if u like to move extremely fast.
Huh, too bad.. I'd be angry if I ordered something and after days of anticipating it would be the wrong one, even if it's "just" a mousepad :D
Control is indeed better for small and precise movements. That's why I want it. As I said, I have a Titan right now and it's all nice and smooth but I could use some more control.
gentleman... If you know it that exactly, why are you asking? I had a Mantis Control over a year ago. For me it was too slow. That means I had to move my hand very fast. In my opinion that's uncomfortable.
Some people are very particular in their movements. I for one loved the mantis, however I thought it was a bit too thick. If i could have the mantis's percision with the thickness of the qck like the "speed" version goliuthis. It will be best of both worlds with my DA.
And you said it wasn't really designed for gaming. You own yourself more than a lobotomised platypus does while trying to solve a puzzle with its tail.
"a huge majority of gamers play with 125hz (microsoft intellimice, logitech mx518 etc) so I don't see how people wouldn't love a consistent 125hz wireless mouse with at least 14 hour battery life."
No, a huge majority of gamers use their intellimice @ 500 hz. Consistent 125? Why, when you can run consistent 500 and your tracking also improves? (in the case of ms mice)
Anyway, you "gamer" are free to enjoy the downsides of a wireless piece of sh1t. Too stupid to not choke yourself with the mouse cord by accident?
oh man i definitely said the g7 wasn't a gaming mouse and i definitely wasn't referring to the razer mouse!
lobotomised platypus? it definitely wouldn't die instantly! neuroplasticity for everyone!
oh man that extra 8ms reduction in tracking time i totally forgot about that jesus who woulda thought it would track better?? that definitely existed when those mice were first released as well!
"oh man that extra 8ms reduction in tracking time"
no, reduction in response time for all mice, and better tracking due to lower buffer clipping, which works only on some mice, specifically those produced by microsoft.
top players wouldn't be able to increase there polling rates with a third party program since that isn't allowed on LAN, so most top players using the ime 3.0 and such would be using it at 125.
My deathadder is at 1000 without drivers but I had to go through that tedious install>uninstall process to get it there.

Fail.
Breaking development, #6 cares,
but you still fail.
i think it is just like the Everglide Titans... prob. still uses the "Fibertek technology"
QCK is not as smooth as the Titans or Goliathus
but for some reason the surface looks a bit shiny under lights.....or maybe im just delusional -_-
#5 is jealous
#9 razer sent my team that for sponsorship.......
Depends on the sensor~

how did you get all those stuff :o

On the matter of the Goliathus, I think I'm still gonna stick to the Heavy. The comfort and the smoothness of an uncoated clothpad can't be beaten.
lol

And making a wireless gaming mouse is pointless, as was proven by G7 being a huge flop.

Logitech's G series si the Gaming series, and everything above g1 sucks terribly.
Also, a wireless mouse will have to be much heavier due to the battery and extra emitters/circuitry, which is not exactly what a gamer would need.
extra emitters/circuitry? damn those are some BIG words don't know if I can find them fast enough in my dictionary to reply by today.
batteries in a wireless mouse? you mean they don't come with a perpetual motion generator??? oh man is my face red!

they're just in black and have many sizes to choose from !
