hey, gunna try to type this out fast as i have to go back to work right now so please forgive my broken english- i got home from work today and my computer had been restarted, i then went to go into company of heros and the game would not launch, after trying multiple times i decided to give up and watch a movie on my computer, i entered part of the name of the movie into the search files and folders the computer went to a quick blue screen and then turned off, and restarted by itself. after the restart it went to windows except it would not open any programs- anything in my autorun msconfig like aim, ntune, ect gave me an error. i dont remember exactly what the error said, something like 0x10000 could not open aim.exe or something for every program. if i tried to open a program manually (clicking on a shotcut) it would give me the error again. I restarted the computer from the start menu and it restarted. once the computer restarted everything seemed to have fixed itself. i was opperating normally for quiet some time, played a scrim of cs with no problem, installed the new itunes and iphone update, nothing. Then i clicked to launch cs and it went to the blue screen and restart again.
Do you know what this could be. There was a lightning storm earlier today. other than that my computer has been running just fine. (im thinking either power source or ram?)
uh i got that same problem years ago on my old shuttle. i believe it was due to having a faulty hard drive, after i replaced my hd i never had that problem again. so like #2 said it's most likely one of those 3 but imma have to say its your hard drive failing.
computer specs and we cant determine whether it's a hardware problem or not, also what OS are you running, XP or Vista? XP SP3 has sooo many problems it could be your harddrive not liking that. with missing shortcuts, could possibly be a virus or malware/spyware, so check out those problems... you can pm me if you need more help or xfire me "ajlarson"
