should have gotten a driver cd separate from your Vista OEM cd. That should have your soundcard driver on it. If not, just google your laptop and drivers. what type of laptop is it?

its not mine its my dads, he has a dell inspirion 1501 and has been complaining about it so i decided to format xp on it to improve performance, i tried the drivers the dell site game me but it gave me an error message saying "cant install on system or wrong system" something like that. so i figured it meant vista only.
