Now for those who don't know, 99hk.biz is a japanese hardware shop that specializes in rare stuff (mostly). Mice like 1.1SE, alienware 3.0 and also mods of the two.
Ebay sometimes have these sort of mice, but very rarely. Chinese "ebay" called Taobao is filled with mods going at literaly no money. http://search1.taobao.com/browse/0/n-95--.. Also a lot of genuine alienwares, though much more expensive. BUT these chinamen wont sell anywhere but in chinaland.
Now, there must be more sites like 99hk.biz? 'Caus that guy has insane prizes now.
pretty sure its a chinese site, not a japanese site...hence the "in lovely hong kong" in the website title and the "hk" in the website link.
not sure if there are any other sites like it, but I believe there was a guy in sk-gaming's site that was doing mouse mods. I really don't think you'll find good prices for rare mice like the SE or even steelseries mice. tons of people want em, and if theres one for a good price you can bet it'll be scooped up real quick.
#2 yea I know the genuine will, but I was hoping there were more sites with the mods, since I think some of them look really really well made, and THEY go for cheap. Just look at taobao, a what seems to be a great mod, 260y ~ $40.
yeah, but I'm sure theres a cost for legitimate businesses to ship stuff out of the country. they can probably sell their mods for cheaper on that taobao website because they only ship locally and won't have to pay any taxes etc.
I live in hong kong and that site is actually run by just one guy. I've bought an icemat from him once, since Hong kong is a fairly small city he usually accepts orders online then meets customers at a train/subway station and makes transactions face-to-face.
if you're really desperate I suppose you could ask him to ship overseas, I don't think he's a registered business so I doubt taxes would affect him, and anyway hong kong is mostly import/export tax-free except for certain products like tobacco and wine.
I hope there will be some of them that would make their site in english or just put option to change the langauge, i was gonna buy/i want to buy but i dont know wtf they writing, yeah theres a google translator but its better to really read it in english(written by writter/person)
I have noticed an uprising demand for custom mouse modifications. I used to mod my Intellimouse 1.1s and a lot of people I showed them to loved them. My plan is to offer a pretty cheap custom mouse painting service to the USA and Canada. As soon as I find spare money to buy a professional paining system (airbrush + car paint) then I will release my website. I plan to only do 1.1 and 3.0 modding for a while, but if people are interested I will mod other mice.
Moddification I will do: 3 Color Paint Scheme (Base, Buttons, Logo) Add your own alias/logo in four different spots (Base, Left, Right, Top) Specialty colors will be available Mouse wheel Painting (If I can find a viable solution for durability that is...)
If people are interested enough I will open this in a few months, but I don't see me doing this anytime within the next six months due to school/funs. Please express your interest in this thread or PM me.
I have decided once I have the funds available, I am going to start a fully dedicated company geared towards the demands for competitive games. I will start off with mouse modifications such as custom painting. I can not provide more pictures because I have given away all of the mice I have painted. I gave my last 3.0 to Steve "Sasquatch" Csikos, he enjoyed it from what I remember. If the mouse modifications sell, I will start to design "gaming" clothing. The clothing won't be made for gamers, just designed for gamers. I would provide team shirts or shirts with my logo on them. I am currently learning the process of designing and manufacturing mousepads. I plan to offer a competitive mousepad to compete with other larger companies. To me, it is all about the size and the surface of the pad. I don't expect to have too many choices at first. I am still in the development stages of this business and I will update the community once I get closer to taking the company live.
Probably Krylon Fusion, or some other extremely cheap spray paint. I don't mess around with spray paint, strictly professional automotive paint for me. Once I get some more mice, I am going to paint about 3-5 test mice for durability reasons. I am not going to sell a product if the paint can be chipped or scratched off easily.
#29 That is what sets my modifications apart from the average user. I will put the "Microsoft" logo and for an additional cost I will put your own alias or logo on as well. This will allow me to do special event mice or even team mice.
#31 I don't know how long it will take for me to start this up. I already have a team in mind that I will be sending test products to when I finish them. I won't say who until I officially start my business, but they are a respectable team. I want them to test my products for durability, and since they travel a lot, it's a perfect match. I will let the community know more about my business when I get ready to open it up.
#33 I won't be able to do that because a lot of people in the Source community know me, and I can't do that to them. If anyone on this forum actually knows me well, they will be able to tell you I am one of the most honest people on the internet. I will have a site up so you can order it, but I will not confirm an order without directly talking to the customer, just so I can meet their expectations and so nothing will get messed up. Again, this won't be happening this month or even next month, I want my test units to be perfect before I start selling my products to the public. Also, due to the fact I will be the only one painting these mice, I will have to limit the amount of orders on a weekly basis. I am thinking I can crank out 5-10 a week, but anymore then that is ridiculous.
#35 I will do world-wide shipping. I actually understand that the demand for modded Intellimice overseas is higher than in the USA. Obviously it will cost a little more for me to ship, but I will make the shipping cost exactly what it cost for me, so it won't be ridiculously high. Right now I am working on the design for the website, so it is a work in progress and should be completed soon!
#37 I will post my site all over the place, don't you worry. On a side note, if anyone knows a round-about way of mass producing mousepads, please get in touch with me. Also, I will start selling my mice BEFORE the website goes live. I will only do prepainted mice just so I can get my feet wet before I plunge deep into the business.
i come from hong kong. and yes, 99hk.biz is also a site from hong kong.
owner of 99hk.biz buys most of his stuff from mainland china and resell them its not even a secret, everyone knows it from hong kong so yea www.taobao.com is a cheap site to buy anything, but quality is not guaranteed
i'm interested to buy the 1.1ss from 99hk site, but i live in brazil, and i have doubts if the site delivers to my country, if the site are reliable and if their products are new, how long the shipping arrives to my country, there are estimates of how long it would take?

High supply and low demand = low price.
Low supply and high demand = high price.
ECONOMICS 101
He does all kinds of color mods and doesn't take any extra benefit from it, so his prizes are very reasonable.
