First of all I cannot set/apply anything in drivers, it doesn't work, Secondly it shows my firmware on the top right as 0.01, WTF? I tried to update the firmware again and it says it's newer then the current version or whatever, anyone ever have this probleM? it shows on the drivers that i have changed the settings like to 900dpi or what the poling rate.. but i do not feel the difference as it is at it's default 500hz and 1800dpi... i would love to hear a solution thankyou
just a bit of general advice for razer mouse owners.
If you ever intend on going to a LAN tourney, for whatever game, rules USUALLY do not allow you to install anything on the comp except drivers. That does not include the razer software. Most of the time, if you can't plug-n-play you can't use the mouse. So, with that said, you're better of getting used to the default DPI (polling rate is the speed at which your mouse communicates with your comp...100hz, 500hz, 1000hz etc etc...i believe Death Adder has 1000hz) and polling rate and leaving it at that.
For my diamondback, I just plug into USB and start playing, I don't use the Razer software.
Sounds to me like the first firmware update went bad. If you cant update the firmware your best bet is probably sending it to razer/store you bought it from for a replacement.
On a random note I do love how these threads always draw the idiotic conclusion, for some, that razer < ms or whatever brand that particular fanboy is loyal to. Every piece of hardware gives certain people problems. Personally of the two razer products I've owned, both have given me far less problems than the 4-5 MS3.0's I've had over the years. It's all personal luck.
#7 uh, with the deathadder the dpi and polling rate get saved to the mouse's memory.
I used my deathadder with 1000Hz polling rate and 450 dpi, I installed the drivers to use these settings. I then un-installed the drivers and still use these settings. I then stopped using my DA for about a month and started using it again today and its still the same settings that I set months ago in the drivers.
deathadder problem
I would try reinstalling windows first before giving up on the mouse.
