I have Vista64 Ultimate, ATI hd4850, and the problem happens to be that every time I use OpenGL in CS, I cant alt tab or it just closes. I cant windows key or ctrl alt del or it closes as well. When I go to D3D, I can alt tab normally. A couple days ago I updated to a open source ATI driver and when i did that I could alt tab in OpenGL, but when I went to do it the next day it goes back to the same problem. Anyone have any ideas on fixing this? I also get BSODs 2 times before my computer boots to windows, but after that it is all fine.

i cant get into windowed mode, it wont allow it at all. It just loads then crashes the game. Well the driver worked intially I am confused as to why it just stopped once I turned it off.
if youre getting BSOD's then check your overclocks, or your ram timing/voltage. and if you havent been to game.amd.com yet and gotten the new HD48XX series updated driver, then you should do so. its on the top of the list under the drivers and something else section.
Well I did try to overclock but the motherboard reset as well as the ram back to default, so I am thinking that it wouldnt be that. That is the place I downloaded the new ones from and they worked for the first day but then it hasnt since then.
i have very similar build except i have 8800 gt. you definitely have something wrong if you bsod twice then boot up. could very well be that your card is wonked! do you have another pcie card you can try?

#1, sorry, but it sounds as its a vista/gfx driver problem so i would find some more drivers.
or learn to not alt tab!

I used to have the same one when I installed vista, try it.
