Hi, I just purchased Sennheiser Hd 555's and a Creative X-FI Xtremegamer sound card and was wondering what the best settings are for Counterstrike Source. I play competitively and would like to have the "zomfg w4llhaxxorz" sound. At the moment i feel like my sound is somewhat misplaced and i hear them but they are actually in a different place. Can you guys help?
i have the same setup and would be keen to know some good settings aswell, but for cod4. at the moment ive got them on headphone settings, crystalizer on 60%, cmss 3d on, eax off, svm off, and some randy EQ settings
i'd switch eax (it's the sound positioning feature) on in every case and maybe set to 2 speakers desktop configuration. can't help with the other options though
the sound in css is weird to begin with and you have to get used to it. set your things to get eax sound as it was stated and then just play around in servers and get used to it... not too hard
ok first make sure you're not getting any audible clipping by not setting the main volume slider above 50% disabling crystalizer and keep wave volume at 100%, if it's too loud for you adjust it from the ingame slider only
Now in order to have proper surround sound in source and cod4 you actually have to fool the engine by setting your speaker setup ingame and in the xp control panel as 5.1 speakers, check this post for more details http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=2..
My current audio setup is x-fi titanium fatal1ty champion ( i recently replaced the pci platinum with this one mainly because i was getting massive crackling and popping every time a damn orbital strike in bf2142 went off no matter the IRQ and pci latency settings ) + dt770/80 + pa2v2 mini-amp
So i can personally assure you that these settings work fine, setting the speaker setup to 2/2.1 speaker in creative audio panel gives better clarity but then the elevation filter stops working and your "audio FOV" gets actually reduced to +/-60 degrees (left and right chanel, that's 120 degrees total instead of 180 ) unless you tweak the thx.ini http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1..http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthrea..
