So in the near future on plan on buying 2x 24" or a 30" and a 24". Depending on which setup I choose I'm planning on buying a really nice 30" or 24" (the second monitor is just for poker/multi tasking so it's quality isn't important). I'm going to be buying a E8400, 4gb, and an ATI card or 2 so I plan on pc gaming in high res, but I also plan on using it for the 360 so HDMI is needed (although HDMI is pretty standard on any decent 24" now isn't it?. Thanks a lot, only computer part I don't know anything about is monitors :)

Dell makes a great 30" (3008WFP) http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/produc.. .

Gateway's 30 has also gotten great reviews. http://www.gateway.com/programs/widescree..

I think it has a CPU in it that handles upscaling, so it supposedly does a good job of taking non-hd signals and upscaling them to 1600p.

Dell also makes a great 24" monitor, really good picture, and not too expensive. I think I recall hearing the Gateway has better picture (and more features) than the Dell, and I'm pretty sure I've also heard that the 24" has better picture than the 30". I'd go with the Gateway 30" and a Dell 24".

I have a Dell 20". I love it. I'd buy a bigger one, but I just dropped $350 on a pair of Shure Se530s.

Go with dual 24's, or just a single 30''. Right now I'm using a 24" and a 22" and its enough to 12-table pretty easily.

I'm using this 24" from newegg (also available on the ftp store):

I already stack 20 tables on my 19", but I enjoy tiling sometimes which is why I was considering the 30/24 combo. I'm most likely going with dual 24s though as I really question whether a 30" is too big as I've used my friends 24" and when your close to it it takes up a lot of your vision/desk space and if I want to game in 2560 and I'm gonna need to blow extra on my graphics setup to. The 30" would be nicer for console gaming swhich I want to get back into so meh I don't know what to pick, thanks for the suggestions guys.

what up tomo?
I have similar computer, e8400, 4 gigs, vista ultimate. i have 8800 gt, make sure you get powerful card to push those high res's. if you like ati the 4870 is pretty great, 4850 is cheaper, but you can get 9800 gt (which is actually same chip as 8800 gt) with free cod4 at tigerdirect for a lot cheaper, and those others aren't "that much" faster or better.
you might just want to buy a 32" tv and run your comp through that? but you will get higher res on monitor for sure, all depends on how far away you will sit. 30" right in your face would make me freak!

I love my 3007 30" Dell the 2560x1600 res is awesome to have. I have a 2.8Ghz Single core AMD running 2GB of ram and a 4850 and it runs everything at smooth playable frame rates that I play. Sometimes people really overestimate how much power 2560x1600 res requires. Of course I dont enjoy playing that many of the newer games. But what you plan on buying sounds like more than enough power.

Right now today only, http://www.woot.com/ has a 37" 1080 (1920x1440 res) for a lot cheaper than a 30", no idea how gaming on those go though.

Also as far as 30 inchers go I've read that the new dell 3008 isn't the way to go for gaming, higher input lag etc. But since you need HDMI I guess the 3007 wouldn't be an option.
