the lift off distance is extremely high...literally higher than DA without firmware update, but after i put tape on, you can barely noticed the lift off( nearly as low as ie3) http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w10/pr..
it feels pretty comfy and i like it a lot.
P.s: the clicking sound is kinda loud compare the the other mice
since this thread lacks content whatsoever, you should have at least given us your first impressions. The packaging. or were u thoughtless at that point? because you were when you wrote this
Well considering, reviews are usually... reviewish, and this lacks any sort of review other than the part when you reviewed that you own one. cool. if youve ever seen one of tetsu's impression posts, yes theyre generally of essay length.
bohnet is just used to those cool sites that review mice like the lachesis. they dont know what to review so they show pictures of the unboxing etc. if you want a quick and decent review of the salmosa, here you go: http://www.crunchgear.com/2008/09/15/revi..
Nice. i tried one of these at my local pc store. I would only sugest getting this if you either have small hands, use palm grip, or have an elevated hand (only rest fingertips on mouse) . I have uber sized hands and my palm was scraping the desk when i used it lol.
#12 deathadder pwns, get it whenever your 518 does die.
Great control, it's comfortable(unlike some razer mice which just feel weird when you hold them), I've had it for almost a year now and so far no issues. I havent had any negative accel problems with it, it obviously doesnt skip if you whip it around but this is standard in most high quality gaming mice. The lift off distance is relatively low so it wont go crazy on you if you run out of pad and have to center it, and the grip and feel is good, it's not rubber so it wont stick to your hands but it's not glossy plastic either so it wont slide if you dont grip it very hard. I'm using it on a 5L as a prefer medium to high grip pads, don't really know how it will do on a speed oriented pad, but I believe it'll perform well.
my setup is: 4/11 windows 1000 dpi 1.9-2.2 ingame depending on my day
now, the obvious problem with these settings is that the sensitivity will be too high for consistent and quick precision. one way to cancel this out is to lower your ingame sensitivity, however, in games such as 1.6 the mouse will start to skip as the cursor on your desktop will constantly be hitting the edges of your screen. most people have solved this issue by using 3/11 windows sensitivity, which brings the sensitivity down to 450dpi without degrading the performance of the mouse. i suggest you do this with the deathadder, diamondback3g as well as the salmosa.
mini reviews: deathadder cons: - heavy (takes away reaction, miniscule issue but still an issue) - lights (i understand that companies must attract gamers aka kids but that doesnt make it okay), this being said you can turn the lights off via the drivers - i suppose some people may not like the shape salmosa cons: - high liftoff distance (deathadder had the same issue upon release, im sure updates on drivers will solve this)
add some thing to it : "most people have solved this issue by using 3/11 windows sensitivity, which brings the sensitivity down to 450dpi without degrading the performance of the mouse. i suggest you do this with the deathadder, diamondback3g as well as the salmosa."
some people might have experiencing its kinda slow with 3/11 windows sens, while your desktop resolution is 1440*900 or higher. You can use 4/11 windows sens
the salmosa has a great sensor since it shares the DA 3g, but the fact is that the DA is probably the best mouse for Counter strike ever created, and if you're gonna spend 40 bucks anyway, why not go all the way and get the DA for a couple bucks more?
the salmosa and the DA have the exact same sensor, and it goes to 1800 DPI so it will work just fine for any game you're playing, the only difference is that the DA has a more ergonomical shape to it. Oh and the extra side buttons. i mean technically this means that the salmosa is also an amazing mouse for CS because it uses the same sensor but i like the two extra buttons and the shape.
I suppose if you only use the 3 main buttons and like the small symmetrical shape better than the salmosa is the mouse for you.
Small, light, and very comfortable. Plus you can easily make it 500-1000 mouse rate in VISTA, which was something I couldn't do with my g1, unless fooling around with that driver signature BS.
Never skips, the mouse buttons are a little louder than usual, and m2 sometimes squeaks faintly. But honestly, these are very minor issues of a great mouse, because with headphones, and when you're playing, you can't hear anything anyways. I've already forgotten about it.
Definitely a mouse of choice if you like small mice, have small hands, or are a fingertip user. If you like the g1, g3, or mx300, etc, you'll love the salmosa.
my mouse1 and mouse2 make loud annoying squeaking sounds that started on the second day. the mouse also feels a bit off balance like the mouse feet are uneven. the sensor is really good though so i'm sticking with it for a while but it has the typical flaws that are always found in razer products. the shape is good, probably razer's best but i miss having side buttons. it's also the first mouse i've used by razer that doesn't look like a gimmicky cheap piece of sh*t with glowing lights and tacky design.
#44 How about a Razer Krait? Just switched to it from a WMO. I can't see any flaws of the sensor and you get used to its shape rapidly. It's just an idea! ;)
I just got one order came. I like the weight of it. Lightest mouse I've used so far. Was using a wheel mouse optical which was about 80g on my scale. This one is only 70-71g.
They should have just put one long strip of feet at the front and back. Instead of just strip in back and 2 small in front.
#49: No one ever said it changes your dpi. It just multiplies the amount of cursor movement on your mouse while the dpi stays constant. Luckily, the changes are pretty consistent so you can, for example, put it on 3/11, which gives you a multiplier of 0.25, and use 1600 dpi to effectively reach the same result as though you used 400 dpi. That is most commonly used to maintain a low sensitivity while also maintaining the highest performance level on the 3G sensor by Razer.
However, using 6/11 is said to give the best results because it maintains 1:1 ratio between cursor movement and actualy physical movement.

4/11 - 0.5
5/11 - 0.75

11/11 - 3.5
#31, yea, they are about the same:
krait dimensions: 120mm (length) x 60.5mm (width) x 37mm (height)
salmosa dimension: 115mm (length) x 63mm (width) x 37mm (height)
I just ordered an asian edition, it keeps the dpi switch but it hasnt the hz one so its 125 by default except using an overrider

i ilike salmosa better cuz other cs, i spend a lot of time play wc3 too....i dont buy a mouse just for one game
