For the price your paying for a triple core, you could get the best dual core out to date, the Intel wolfdale e8600 3.33 ghz, which is a beast proc. I currently own it and a biostar mobo, which is known to be basic, subpar mobo. With these two, all i did was set my fsb higher and bam, I had 4.0 ghz. No changes to voltages, nothing. It was even running at cool temps.
If your gonna go amd, you gotta get there quad core 9950, otherwise its a waste (keeping in mind this is for gaming).
