currently using razer salmosa, and ordered a custom io 1.1 from dukeboss, should be here about two weeks.
as you can see, i had mx518 before, the old one which is featured 1600 dpi, I just wondering how good is it, only 200 dpi more and still using the 518 sensor?
I just check on newegg, the new 518 is 29.99 after rebate and free shipping, thats y im considering buying it
i have the new mx518 but i only play on 400 dpi and the other problem was the G feet, I got hyperglides because people said they were the same for the G5 and G7 but they were slightly different. I just put them ontop of the originals, I dont care much its the best mouse i ever used. I used all the mouses that u have exept the ikari.
The new MX518 got the same sensor as the DA. I have the Batman edition (with "G feet"), but I don't use it since I got a Krait. MX518 is a superb mouse, no doubts, but Krait offers less weight.
I've heard that before #3. Please post proof that the new mx518 has the same sensor as the DA plz. I'm pretty sure I've seen that proved wrong before. Just because it has the same advertised DPI doesn't mean it has the same sensor...
lol it doesnt have the same sensor as the deathadder, the deathadder is infrared, the 518 is clearly optical, I have the new one with the G feet, its optical PZ.
I think the mx518 batman and mx with gseries feet use the g5 sensor since it says 2000 dpi in setpoint(though that might just be a bug) the mx518 1800dpi uses the same sensor as deathadder which is Avago 3688 because there is no other sensor the same as deathadder and has 1800dpi though the mx518 only runs at 125hz that's probably the reason why it doesn't feel the same.
i got it after i RMA'ed my other broken one. sadly the new 1800 dpi broke again as usual.. this time the right click just wouldnt work, not like the other times where it died.
Its upto you buy it. mx518 sensor is reallyy good and according to the ereality test it beats it counterparts like razer krait, copperhead. In my previous comment i wrote than mx518 is better than 3.0,1.1 etc u cant really compare the two cuz the mx518 test was done on 1600 dpi and if the 518 uses the 400 dpi sensor like the mx500 then it is not much of a difference, the perfect control is the same.About the deathadder sensor i am not really sure but some people claim than the 518 sensor is exactly the same at deathadder which i now doubt cause they both use different technology.
#16 is actually correct.. either way, if you try to OC the mx518 you will NOT see a change in performance. also, the durability for my 518's didnt last so long and i kept real good care of them...
i upgraded my mx510 to mx518 when the 510 edition broke. my only freakin complain is that whenever i go to clean it i always accidently adjusted the dpi setting and its freakin annoying!!! ok thank is all
#13 omg im so terrible cuz i have like 20+ mice, im so terrible i have the money to spend, im so terrible that im not play cs only, im so terrible that ppl just give pure opinion, im so terrible that if you wanna play one on one wih me i gonna pwn u.

only difference is dpi. you'll get slightly more IPS at 1800dpi but who cares you'd have to literally toss your 518 across a 3 foot long mousepad before it locks up on you.
What does one sensor reading an infrared beam. The other reading a red beam. Have to do with the sensors being different? Mice can have the same optical sensor and different sources of illumination.
Death Adder uses infrared led MX518 uses a red led. I'll open up my MX518 and see what it has.

What it said on top so it's a 3080 sensor from Avago.
If you already have the old version, it might not be worth it to get the new one. If I didn't have either one and had to choose I would choose the newer one. The G-5 styled feet feels better on my QCK.

honestly do you need all of those? one part about being a good gamer, which most of the people that come on this site either are or want to be one, is being consistent with you're settings. pick one, stick with it
