I like it and the G5 glides nicely on it. I switched over from a DKT pad and I feel this pad has less friction so it's very easy to swipe across this pad plus it provides plenty of room. So yeah, I'm satisfied with this pad and I doubt I'll be switching anytime soon.
#9 ... that's a real tough question. My opinion is that any surface that notably degrades over a short period of time is a waste of time. If you want true skill, go with a surface that keeps as consistent for as long as possible.
I bought my first Steelpad 6 years ago and since then I've tried every possible kind of mousing surface you can imagine. In the end, Icemat came out as the winner. You can use it for 3-4 years and probably longer without noticing any kind of degradation on it. Second best choice would be some kind of long-lasting plastic pad, like the recently marketed SteelSeries SP.

n yes IF " a mousepad is just a mousepad" y wud ppl buy da costlier n more professional looking mouse pads rather than using a sick palm size mouse pad....

Razer Goliathus speed is amazing it's the exact pad Im using now I would never use another pad ever again and it's counter-part is a Razer Death adder which is also amazing these best mouse EVER.
