I have a pair of HD 555 for playing cs, I think they are amazing, but I need something to listen to music on my ipod and not look like a nerd at like an airport or at school. I want the best possible sound quality for my price range, I am a sound quality freak. My budget is around $100, and I have been looking at Sennheisers so far, I don't know enough about earbuds to know what to look for.

$15 sennheisers earbud would do the job.
i use those :

can't say anything comes closer for such price. there is also a Sony model which is mostly flagship of Sony in earbuds called the Sony MDR-EX

or you could just go for some Shure...

For an owner of HD555's I must admit you don't really give off the impression of "sound quality freak", particularly considering HD555's are horrible. But alas, my recomendations will come with certain conditions. They depend on exactly what type of earphone you prefer

You won't find a better unamped set of earbuds then this
http://www.amazon.com/YUIN-PK2-Yuin-Pk2-E..

If you are interested in canal type phones, that block out external noise then look into
http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE210-Sound-I..
http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-I..
You may find these to be uncomfortable, so I would endeavor to find a store which allows you to try them. You may also want to look into Ultimate ears or Westone, but I find they aren't quite a neutral as the above options

If you are looking into a portable set of conventional headphones then you won't be able to do much better then this for the price

if you search around online you can pick up a pair of Shure SCL4s for ~$100. they're normally $250-300 earphones and I can tell you the sound quality is superb.

#5 I don't believe I stated all sennheiser products are bad. Though, I guess that depends on your definition of bad. In truth, most of their products are over hyped, over rated and over priced. They aren't all bad, but there are generally just better products out there. PC350's happen to be one of their worst products. Can I ask why you don't like any of the above options? I think they should cater to just about anyones needs in a portable set of headphones. If you can tell me what your listening styles are, perhaps I can provide a more help. What are you needs?

Easily the AKG 701's. HD650's require some serious amplification (so do k701s), but even then they are often considered to be out performed by headphones costing significantly less money. Other high-end cans I would take well before HD650s include beyerdynamic dt--880s, denon d1000/2000, alessandro ms 2 / grado sr325s, and basically any open audio technicas at or above ad700's. There are probably others that escape my memory at this point in time

I don't know a great deal about AKG in ears, but I would avoid them anyway as there really isn't a lot of information on them, they aren't terribly well known. CX500's are horrible, in my opinion they aren't much better then cx300's IF at all.

I really have no idea what other portable headphones to recommend - as I can't understand why you have shunned audio technica and the headphones I listed in my first post. As far as I'm concerned they are the best in their class, else, I wouldn't have recommended them.

If you're shopping for earbuds (not in-ears), only brand worth considering is Yuin. They're lowest priced is pk3 which is quite good and their highend pk1 is fantastic.

#17 has it

Pk1 require amping, though. They're superb with a good amp.

Pk2s have sparkling highs and clear mids, with decent bass. They're a little lean/hollow, though.
Pk3s have less clear highs and mids, but really good bass. They're much warmer and more fun, too.

May want to look at the Yuin OK series if you don't mind IEMs. "Supposedly" it goes (overall):
OK1>PK1=OK2>PK2>OK3>PK3 (though even the PK3s are amazing (just make sure to use the full pad and not the donut one))
But not much reviews/comparisons have been done on the OK series, IDK why. They convert from earbuds to IEMS; but supposedly the IEMs are kind of a gimmick.

Personally, I can't decide between the OK3 or PK3 (not willing to spend too much on something I bring everywhere). PK3s are around 40 bucks; with OK3s sitting around 60.

Edit: Going with OK3s

I vote the shures, I've got an older pair and they still sound good. They also stick to your ears very well.

Thank you all for this feedback, as you can tell it took a while but I finally acquired the disposable income to buy my earbuds, and I chose the Shures, the SE210's, and I use them for my ipod and they are an amazing pair, good quality and they do everything advertised as well as I expected.

Ugg boots went through the fashion cycle of popular and unpopular, now it is standing in the forefront of fashion once more. There is noting like the hottest shape of shoes which is ugg boots. It is difficult to give up the fashion and sexy ugg boots .Whether T shaped or super star both have a preference for such boots with effect on beautify legs
It conveys a sexy,avant-garde and bold information or perhaps mixed a bit fashion taste called 'rock girls'.

AKG K701's need ALOT of amping, as do the DT 880/990, Sennheisser HD 650/800.
Dont even bother buying them unless you can afford a really nice amp (Talisman 3H or better, appox $1100)
But those are expensive high end circumnaurals, not buds so..

I have the AKG K340 canalphones, and they are excellent, i prefer them over the senn cx300, as they dont have as much bass, and they sound more detailed.
