Can you remove the shell on the new mx518 the one with g5 feet? I don't see any screws, also the old mx518 screws are underneath the sticker right? With like an X mark. I have two the g5 feet and the red one.
i would do it, simply because i HATE the feel of the mx518, otherwise i love the mouse absolutely. I actually use tape on the part where my finger rests, because the material makes my hand sweat and it sticks to the mouse. The G5 has a better texture for me, i don't know about this guy but if you figure it out let me know :P
some people sand it slightly, but otherwise if you don't use the g5 it can't hurt to try it on that first. i'm assuming the process of removing them is similar on both mice
I just did a test on my g5. There's 1 on the left, one on the top and two on the very bottom. You have to remove the teflon skates. That really sucks can't do it without removing them.
Anyways you cant swap the shells of the two. I know this because I tried and those two arent the same size as each other. The g5 is a little bit bigger.
