I will be making the jump to windows 7 in the fall mainly for the 64 bit Operating System. I've been using Windows XP 32bit for the past 9 years along with a 7KB file called accelfix.exe. Unfortunately I want to use my 6GB of ram with my i7 setup and pretty soon 2GB video cards will be standard pushing the OS system memory under 1GB. When I execute accelfix.exe I like the way the mouse feels in game and like many of you I don't like changing settings (I'm still using a CRT @ 120hz). I believe the accelfix.exe eliminates all windows acceleration with windows xp 32bit but does not work for vista 64 bit. I never used a 64 bit operating system and like most gamers I hate windows vista but will need to make the move.

The only thing from making me make the change to a 64 bit system is the way the mouse will feel during fps gaming. I've been doing some research and there have been some reports that wcafix.zip will fix this problem. Can anyone confirm this?

wcafix works for me on vista ultimate 64 which is pretty much the hardest OS i've used to use almost anything =/ once you enable testsigning it works just fine it will MOST likely work fine on windows 7 but im sure google will work better than asking here

wcafix might work on windows 7 but it seems that it's inferior to accelfix.exe

" Already done that, vsync is always off and i also set max frames to render ahead to 0. The problem is not the video, since mouse lag appears regardless of the settings. It only appears when I apply the WCA fix. The lag is not big, for most it's not noticeable at all, but I'm very picky about mice and how they behave, so it botheres me. It's not placebo either, I asked a friend to randomly enable or disable the fix wihtout me knowing what he chose, and I would figure it instantly wether it was on or off, based on mouse lag. " ( source : http://razerblueprints.net/index.php/comp.. )

i guess i'm stuck on xp sp2 :P

#7 whoever said that is a complete idiot there is no Lag from WCAfix what he was most likely referring too was neg accel from his mouse something he didn't notice before because he had at least a little bit of mouse accel like most people that use CPL mousefix and what not. Wcafix disables mouse accel completely you can test this by some program called deadlock or what not if you still have mouse accel at all it makes you unable to move your cursor at all and if you dont have any it lets you move it just fine. CPLmousefix and most other mousefixes normally don't actually get rid of accel they LOWER it like CPLmousefix that just curves it a bit. In all honesty i see no reason whatsoever for WCAFIX to lag your mouse i think this person was probly used to mouse accel and assumed his mouse would run the same with wcafix which is obvious it wouldn't since it disables mouse accel completely. Most likely this guy was using something like a 3.0 or something and hadn't overclocked the usb port so that the neg accel would be lowered like most people do either way i don't think this character knew what he was talking about at all. There is 0 mouselag on vista 64 with WCAFIX i use a 3.0 at 1.2 6/11 and 500 hz and i have no problem whatsoever im sure there is probly still a little neg accel since all 3.0s have it but i never notice it even with that rediculously low sensitivity.

I'm hearing that wcafix fixes the issues with x64 vista but not windows 7

yea I couldn't make any accel fix work for windows 7. I had to switch back to xp because of it. Gaming is too hard with accel.
