Anyone know what the best wireless card for gaming would be to go with this router?
I don't know much about wireless stuff, so my dad went to frys and they said this one (d-link DWA-130) was the best. But I'm about 50ft or so from the router and I only get 2-3 bars (sometimes down to 1) and I've only had it for like 2-3 days but last night I was getting disconnected all the time and ping spiking a lot.
But I don't even know if there is something better I can get without having to get a better modem/router.
it's like 50ft away... I'm just staying with some of my parent's friends so I don't have a lot of options with bringing the router closer to my computer or running a cable 50ft through the house.
There are ethernet ports in the walls though... I was thinking it might be possible to hook up a wire from the router into a port then all the other ports would work? But I'd have to get their permission to move the router as it would effect their wireless connections so... ya just don't want a big hassle
I was looking into it and according to this article I could use a wireless 'n' card and it would be compatible with my router and it would be faster http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/wirele..
is that right? or would I only benefit if I had a 'n' router too...
I don't even know if this would connect to the router or my wireless card... neither of them have an antenna to detach and hook this up to instead... helllllllllllllp

I use the one I stole from Walmart, it has small antennas which allow me to steal my neighbor's interwebz.
(antennas for the win)
