Hey guys, my comp's vid card has messed up, and I need to get a new card. any suggestions? I wasusing a 8800GT so preferably nothing significantly bigger than that.
Specs (From memory, so they might not be exact):
-P5Q Deluxe Mobo (Asus) -2GB of ram -2.5 quad2duo cpu -400W PSU
Preferably not something that runs REALLY hot. Doesn't need a ridiculous amount of power, i primarily play quakelive or TF2, but i would want something equal or greater than my 8800.
a 4830 is pretty nice in comparison to the 8800 GT. i think the 9800 gt is like similar to the 8800 gt. so either get a 9800 gt or a 4850. the 4870 is better than the 8800 and the 4850 so you could get that if u want but if u want something similar to it go with a 4850/9800.
GTS 250 is good too.But since your board is CrossFireX ready and not SLI ready,it'd be better to go with an ATi card for FUTURE-PROOF-NESS.so i'd say a 4850 but make sure you get it from a good brand(XFX,Sapphire,Diamond ....)and also check the power consumption to see if your PSU has enough watts,PCI-EXPRESS cable(s),and amperage on the 12V rail.
