New system

I need a $600 system for a friend. Can anyone help me I have no idea where to start thanks. I already check Harle Old post it help a bit but still lost =P halp!

you could buy a 4870 if you'd like but that would break the combo :/

he also needs a cd drive and ram btw u left that out

that combo is alright, personally i would get a different hdd and case, but you have plenty of money left over to pick your own. i haven't heard the best thing about spinpoints, and i have a barracuda 7200.11 with 32mb cache and its very nice.

case is basically your choice on looks, some you might have to clean more often than others

well either way if you want something faster i suggest the same CPU but a 4870 and a different mobo. these two are pretty good

Black Edition doesnt come with HSF does it? if not whats a good one for it?

it does.. it's just not that great and the max you could get with OC'ing it is near 3.6ghz.

So my friend went with your setup. I just finish setting up the system and everything went smoothly until I booted it up it says "disk boot failure." I tried disabling the floppy and set CD drive as first boot device and HDD as second. Still doenst work. =[ Any idea what's going on Motherboard or something?

There are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo many causes for that error, just google it.

Yea poor guy was so excited and now BAM this LOL

ok before i left i found out something new the bios did not pick up any sata drives and i also used a different hardrive for it does it narrow down the problems. I know there are lots of causes i was google for a couple of hrs and now i hope somebody can find a fix ;D
