I've got some Sennheiser HD555's and love them, I just dont know if there's better sound out there that's newer then what these are for. ( music )

Am i better off buying a Siberia V2 from SteelSeries with the USB soundcard? Will it make a big difference?

Also am i better off buying a Creative XMOD USB soundcard or something else? I'm not mobile AT ALL. i just want to hear the best footsteps, lol.

You want to know, if there's better better sound? Yes, Beyerdynamic MMX 300/Qpad QH-1339. Both are a MMX 300, but on the one stands Beyerdynamic and on the other Qpad. The problem is their price. About $ 300 (or more), if I remember rightly.

Just get regular DT770/80 PRO and cheapie clip-on mic, you can find those pairs for 150$ or less on ebay, too bad that the drivers of my pair got damaged due to several abuse so I upgraded to DT-150, btw these pairs are way too demanding in terms of source and amplification IMO, my x-fi would not cut it neitheir my mini headphone amp ( PA2V2 ) I had to spend hundreds of dollars and buy audio-gd's compass HPamp+DAC in order to make them sound their best, man I was in audio-nirvana when this combo worked :)

Audio-Technica AD700s are roughly the same price as the HD555s and provide a better sound

Steelseries isn't going to touch Sennheiser. I can tell you that as somebody with Steelseries 5HV2's on my head.

I've heard great things about the HD595's, but they're almost twice the price.

My advise is, keep the HD555 until it breaks. Yes there are better headphones, but its smarter imo to enjoy hd555 till its worn out. And if you do want to switch, AD700 is my advice. Or if you have monies: http://www.audiocubes.com/product_info.ph..

I had an ATH-AD700, after it broke, i got a HD555, and i can say its a lot better, more crisp sounds.

are you kidding? HD555 almost sounds MUFFLED compared to AD700. There is only a slight difference I noticed when comparing HD595 vs ad700. But HD555 being better then AD700? yeah right.

Many, many people (read: audiophiles) cite the AD700 as having better sound than the HD555s.

The HD555s look much better than AD700s though

Keep the 555's till they break, and get a proper soundcard now
no need to think about which pair of headphones to get before they break anyhow

Denon makes great headphones.. same with sony..
