yeah, elkos build if more future proof. but there isn't any shame if you want to save a few bucks on a computer, i mean the 4870 is still a very nice card and the 550 has great potential of being an amazing dual core (AMD has ruined the locked cores lately so people will stop unlocking the cores on the cpu).

550's still unlock as far as I know, just use the right BIOS version and you're good.

Some guy asked me for help a little over a week ago for a 600$ build.

He unlocked his 550 and got it to 4ghz on air..

A OC'd or unlocked 550 won't bottleneck a 5850.

so i'm guessing it would be the same for the 5870. in that case, i'm dropping my asus 790GX and amd 965 and 5770, and going with the 770 and 550 BE and 5870.

and yeah thats pretty much like a $15 640GB harddrive O_O
