computer dies

Ive just built my new rig, first time i booted it up everything was running fine but today it wont even turn on. When i press the power button on the front the fans inside the case spin a tiny bit then the computer dies.

specs are:
c2d e6750
2GB corsair ram
250 GB seagate barracuda
Antec Sonata 3 case with inbuilt 500W power supply
Gigabyte GA P31-DS3L mobo
nvidia 256MB XFX 8800GT

Hopefully someone here knows that the problem is cus i dont wanna pay some guy to come out and take a look at it ;D

sounds like something is wrong with the PSU. either that or make sure everything is plugged in correctly.

PSU possibly went to poop or ur board/cpu is donzo

Check the PSU. Things may be not bad.

it looks like ur PSU is dead :]

You can pay a player to play source, but you can't make him like it.

You can buy a PSU tester to see if your power supply works or simply look online for how to jump it specifically.

If your PSU tests out ok, I would say mobo is fried. 500WATTS seems a little low for a new rig like that also btw. Next time go 750+

600 will be fine for that rig.
