I was wondering what your thoughts or reviews on "Angle Snapping" in Logitech's Setpoint software. By opening MS Paint and drawing a line from left to right, I can tell it draws a perfect straight line with it enabled. I have a G500 wired mouse.
Do you find this helps your aim significantly in FPS? I mainly play Quake, TF2, CS, UT3. I pubbed around a bit with it and found it increased my hitscan aim significantly.
What are you experiences with Angle Snapping, and do you find it useful and providing an increase in accuracy?
Preference imo, you can can get used to and play with both. Most pros use microsoft mice for a long time because they have no correction and because they most likely don't want to change anything, but there are still f0rest, whimp and probably some others who are good and play with correction.
What you describing is actually called prediction even though angle snapping is an interesting name. Most competitors avoid mice with prediction and look for the mice that do not have it. I do agree that it is preference BUT it will especially make a difference when using it at high sensitivities. In the long run I think raw input ie no prediction is best.
angle snapping is bad for fps in my opinion its not about aiming to be honest it makes u aim in a certain way even though f0rest and whimp and some others use mice with prediction I can name countless counter strike pros whos switched to razer deathadder(prior to firmware update) and then switched back to their respective intellimice without prediction e.g solo,sunde,MJE,lunatic-hai players, dsn, zet, edward, bail, neo etc
Pro: It does help a straight sweep. And for many it's unnoticed if not focused on (unless it's unusually wide/strong).
This is also it's Con: Even if it can go TOTALLY unnoticed depending on brand and player, it almost equally often DOESN´T. Having to counteract straightness (or staircase effect) when wanting to go at an angle or curve, can feel or BE.. AGGRAVATING, certainly if it's strong. I'd even say it sometimes adds a "delay".... because often you need to pull harder to brake free which causes aim-overshoot that needs after-adjusting. You have overshoot normally, but this unnecessarily adds more of it.
But It's generally kept weak/shallow so many prefer it, I was used to free so I don't.

I'm not sure if this is considered prediction or not. All it seems to be doing is straightening out the flicks from left to right and vice versa.
It does help a straight sweep.
