Testing

Installation
I received the mouse during business hours, so i put it straight to work. Installation was a breeze, as all that was necessary was to plug the mouse in. Obviously, all USB mouses are easy to install, but many times all the features don't work. For example, on many of Logitech's mice, the Quick Switch application button does not work without the drivers. Not only did all the normal use buttons work right off the bat, but so did the resolution switching. By default the sensitivity is altered by the buttons on the right side of the mouse. However, like any good user, I installed the drivers to see what they had to offer.

Drivers
The drivers installed without a hitch and started right up. With a nice clean layout and a user friendly interface, there is not much I can say about the drivers. They offer all the necessary options for controlling the mouse's function and performance. The drivers allow for you to turn on/off the On-The-Fly Sensitivity function, Sensitivity, Double-click speed, and choose the functions for the 7 programmable buttons. The following screen shots should give you a better idea:

Use in a Professional Environment
The combination of both the On-The-Fly Sensitivity and the precision of this mouse greatly improved my productivity. As a designer, it is very important that the graphics I design are perfect and created quickly. Clients depend on me being able to get the job done and get it done in a timely manner. The precision this mouse provided allowed me to manipulate and utilize photoshop efficiently and effectively. The key to this improvement was the On-The-Fly Sensitivity. The ability to change the sensitivity allowed me to increase my accuracy while altering photos or developing a design. If I needed to quickly touch up some areas, I could switch to a higher sensitivity and get everything I need set and then, switch to a lower sensitivity to get that change applied exactly where I needed it. This was a great tool that I now can not live without. Combined with the mouse pad's smooth and quick surface, both products were just a dream come true. This is not just for photoshop, however, but in any environment from windows to 3D modeling. I was able to quickly manipulate objects in a 3D environment accurately and precisely. Even just using the computer for general use, the mouse hit the mark I needed it to every time. For this type of environment I would choose the thicker 'control' side of the mouse pad.

Use in a Gaming Environment

At this point in time, I am 99% positive that any professional working man or woman who has heard of Razer is a gamer as well. This mouse was developed to not only change the way you work, but "Change the way you Live, Work, & Play." Because of this, I wanted to see if it changed the way I play as well as the way I worked.. I tested this mouse in Battlefield 2, CS 1.6, CS: Source, Day of Defeat: Source and Quake 4. It worked great! I loved the minimal movement I had to make on the high sensitivity and I especially loved it when I got to be a sniper class and I could switch sensitivity real quick to get better aim. The low weight and the style in which you have to hold it made for very relaxing gameplay.

As a gamer, there are many mouses out there that are branded as "gaming" mouses. The majority of these mouses are big, "ergonomic", and flashy. Because of their size and dimension it cuts out things like a weight factor and all the left hand users. Razer counters these guys by producing a symmetrical, light weight mouse, but they don't brand it a gaming mouse. Razer has a line of products that specialize in gaming. However, this mouse performed and performed well. I had a left handed friend of mine give it a go around and he said he was very pleased and it was very comfortable while playing.

The Pro Pad

The mouse pad performed just as well as the mouse in both areas. Unfortunately, Razer provided no marking whatsoever to determine the difference between each side of the mouse. One side is smoother and thinner than the other. This was the only way I was able to determine which side was the quicker side. While the lack of markings keeps the pad looking professional and clean, I was a bit disappointed because I knew their other products do distinguish one side from the other.

Mouse Tracking and Smoothness

The mouse, no matter how fast I was moving, never skipped a beat. I even tried to make this mouse loose track or become jumpy and I could not do it. It was very precise and had smooth, fluid movement throughout my experience with it.
