Let’s take a look at the Logitech G15 Keyboard and see if it is an amazing peripheral, or just a large keyboard loaded with gimmicks. Welcome back to Stu's Peripheral Picks! ![]() Manufacturer: Logitech Product: G15 Gaming Keybaord Gallery: Click Here Price: $74.99 Buy it at GotGear! Backlit keyboards are on the rise, and they seem to get nicer everyday. We have reviewed Logitech products before and have been very happy with the results. Known for bringing peripheral innovations to the forefront before anyone else, Logitech has a strong lineup of successful products. The Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard is another of those innovations. However, are all the features frivolous, or is it really a must-have? Initial Reaction & Packaging The package's exterior is a typical green Logitech box, with silver and black décor -- nothing really special, just your standard keyboard packaging. The first thing you might think when you open the box is, “Holy cow, this is one big friggin’ keyboard!” Perhaps this occurred to me particularly because I've been using a Saitek Eclipse for the past few months, and before that, a generic keyboard. I ignored its size because I know that Logitech has a habit of making larger keyboards, such as the Logitech Elite (the Elite isn't abnormally long from left to right, but when the wrist rest is attached, it's very deep from top to bottom). At first glance, there wasn't anything too exciting about the G15 for me. The keys all look normal, other than the three rows of 6 all the way on the left side of the keyboard. It has a pretty standard layout. You have a volume wheel and media controller just below the screen. Along with those are four small, black buttons immediately below the screen. There was nothing to do but attach the wrist rest and plug it in! |

edit : just one question though, how does the wrist support on the keyboard feel? i can't tell if its like hard plastic like on the elite or a soft foam from the new microsoft keyboards
My Elite died on me so i switched to the Saitek keyboard.. with the quick realization that I couldn't hold down 3 keys at once, I picked up this board and have loved it since.
the wrist support isn't the soft foam microsoft has been using it.. its a hard plastic but it feels like it has a softer rubber coating on top of it.
<3 my eclipse, comfy, compact, sexy =)
for example I use Q to talk, W to move forward, and caps lock for the walk button.. those 3 would not work together lol, which really sucked.
The Macro keys and the LCD are a complete waste. Where's the version without the LCD? Oh, there is none so people are forced to pay up, eh?
10/10? Perfect product? Yeah right. Bad review on an old product.
game information such as player stats, without hitting tab :)
works amazing for CPU performance graphs and stuff.
also with bf2.
Instead of all the gadgets it has, I'd rather you test how the keys feel, are they hard to press, or easy? Is it a quiet keyboard or loud? How many keys can be pressed at once? Is it comfortable after extended hours of use? These are what keyboards should do, not introduce 15 "G" keys and have small LCD screen
Just going to have to stick with my microsoft natural 4000 for now.
hope gotfrag does a review of Steel Keys 6G, then i can finally decide which one to buy
