AMD is putting 2.5B into their Dresden fab.

Reuters is reporting that AMD is planning to invest 2.5 Billion dollars in two of their Dresden fabrication facilities. The majority of the money will go to their first Dresden fab, known as Fab 30. This facility is fairly outdated, and will undergo a major overhaul to allow for greater production of their CPUs. Once completed, Fab 30 will reportedly be renamed Fab 38.

The remainder of the money will be go into Fab 36, which was just recently constructed by AMD. It is in the final stages of completion, and has already begun sampling chips. The money is designated to help the fab reach full production level.
